Texcaltitlán
LOCALIZATION
Texcaltitlan is located 65 km from Toluca city. Its geographic size is 142.45 km2. According to the INEGI the last census was in the year 2000 and the current population was 7913 people. [1]
HISTORY
Texcaltitlan came from the Náhuatl Texcalli = “Rock” Titla= "Between" and the meaning is “between rocks”.
Texcaltitlan appear in the year 300 b. C. and very much events occurred when this town was funded in 1861 how actually be. [2]
CLIMATE
The climate of this region is temperate humid, although there are slight variations in the different localities of the municipality. The most serious problem that exist in Texcaltitlan is the frequent forest fires occurring during the dry season which affect not only the production but also the flora and fauna in the other hand Texcaltitlán has beautiful landscapes with lush vegetation, waterfalls and streams that come from the volcano in Toluca. ECONOMY
The trade’s day in Texcaltitlán is on Tuesday and is one of the oldest traditions of the municipality that has been preserved from the time of the first settlers. Now is one of the biggest in the State of Mexico. [4]
BUILDINGS
The church in Texcaltitlán is surrounded by black battlements quarry dating from the eighteenth century and altarpieces such as wooden baroque art that is in the chapels of the communities of Santa Maria and San Francisco. [5]
