Things you can do:

For the most part, I have no problems with the article. Some of the phrases in the article irk me though -- "the innovative genius" of Purdue University, for example? Not NPOV, or very accurate honestly. I'll go back and fix them myself, probably today. EagleFalconn 14:48, 1 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Lafayette Life

The Lafayette Life Company has recently merged with the Western & Southern Financial Group, and may need to be removed. Indiana 02:17, 26 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Karen Black

Please check the notability of Karen Black being a resident of lafayette

According to this: [1] she went to Jefferson High school in Lafayette. And I think the school recognizes her as an accomplished alumnus in some of it's promotional materials. Not sure how long she lived here though. Nowimnthing 18:37, 26 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

public schools

This section was getting a little long and possibly a little too gushing about the schools. Seeing as there is now a page for the corporation, I think that info will work better over there in the history section. We don't really need a list of every school in the city limits here and since there is already apage for the corporation that does a better job of listing the schools, there is no reason to duplicate it here. Winter/Spring 2007 vandalism to demographic data

I've noticed that User:74.38.50.249 has changed the US Census demographic data (such as the city's racial makeup and median income) several times since late February (see here, here, here, and here), apparently without anybody else noticing -- nobody seems to have undone the damage, in any case. I reverted the "demographics" section to the 2/24/07 version, which I checked against the original automated upload from back when this article was started in 2002. The article might benefit from having some responsible editors place it on their watchlist, so that they can revert such vandalism when it occurs. --Malepheasant 23:54, 29 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

pronunciation

I attempted to correct the pronunciation, but may have gotten it wrong. Please check. kwami (talk) 09:35, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

star city

Yes, the nickname is "star city" which occasionally appears in the names of businesses (such as a now defunct bank.) It isn't heard much today.

Municipal flags are rarely seen except at city-county buildings. Chicago, Washington DC are exceptions.
