I would appreciate it if someone with more time on their hands then me would re-write the entire article; as it now stands, it's largely just copy-and-pasted from the band's own website. Ours18 21:20, 17 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'll have a crack shortly, I'll remove all the fluff that's not really needed from the bio section and maybe write something about the music. But for now, I'll just strip it down so the bones can be worked on, and I'll try to find some other stuff to add. EDIT: Removed what I see to be fluff, trying to keep it more in tone and about the band. It still holds together though the bit covering the middle years is small and a little weak. It isn't too much hacking, but Rv if I've botched it. I'll try to get some more sourced to add some more detail about the musical progression, etc. But hopefully it's easier to work with now. I just did a semi-major clean-up, but it still needs work. There's stuff mentioned in the article proper that isn't in the discography, and still some grammar continuity issues (ie, tense changes). On a related note, I see no reason why their other albums do not deserve their own page; Oath Bound is hardly some sort of breakthrough record (actually, according to Metal Archives, Dol Guldur is actually their best-selling one). It's not like they haven't recieved rave reviews before. I might make that a personal project later, but just a thought....Ours18 00:52, 8 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, decent writing really isn't my strong point, but at least without some of the fluff its easier for people to sort out. On the albums's front, it's probably just no one has gotten around to writing pages from them yet. I should go Dol Guldur and Let Mortal Heroes Sing Your Fame as I got them in my latest CD haul (normally owning the CD helps for all the extra info in the booklet, but not Summoning of course). I'll do what I can to help you make the page better, so just let me know what else I can help with. Dace59 01:07, 8 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Working on throwing in a few interview sources in the arcitle, just to give it something more to work with and to back up random facts here and there. Again, not great but I hope it's a start. Dace59 19:27, 8 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm gonna make a page for Dol Guldur in a few days; busy with other things at the moment.Ours18 19:04, 9 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"Epic" metal

I changed instances of "epic" to "power", since epic metal redirects to power metal, and hence isn't a genre. --Dayn 07:25, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

I removed power metal as Summoning isn't even remotely power metal. I'll change it to "experimental" symphonic black metal, that's the best I can think of. Ours18 23:27, 23 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

And is even "experimental" appropriate? I think not, because in what ways do Summoning experiment? IMO they play fairly straightforward melodic blackmetal, albeit with a repetitive quality, but that is a tradition in black metal, and not something I would consider experimental. I will change this along with my other concerns (see above) unless anyone objects. Optrirominiluikus (talk)
