Ultimatum (comics)
Ultimatum is an upcoming six-issue comic book story arc from Marvel Comics, scheduled to begin in May 2008. It falls under Marvel's Ultimate Marvel imprint. Written by Jeph Loeb and illustrated by David Finch, Ultimatum will appear in the pages of the Ultimate Marvel titles Ultimate X-Men and Ultimate Fantastic Four. Elements of Ultimatum's story will be established in the series The Ultimates 3 and the miniseries Ultimate Power and will relate to the upcoming Ultimate Origins.
Loeb commented in an interview with Comic Book Resources.com that the series "will hopscotch back and forth between the two books and conclude what I would like to say is the first chapter of the Ultimate Universe. What that means and how that's explored is the basis of our story and we're not letting any cats out of the bag."[1]
The series will run through Ultimate X-Men #98-100 and Ultimate Fantastic Four #58-60. Thus far Ultimate Power #9 and The Ultimates 3 #2 have carried the "March On Ultimatum" banner leading into the crossover implying events in these individual issues will likely become relevant.
