Established as a limited liability company in 1982, Oman Refinery Company was commissioned with a refining capacity of 50,000 barrels per day (BPSD) to cater for the Oman’s local strategic demand of refined products. The Refinery produced 85,000 BPSD after modifications that took place in 1987 and 2001. A Revamp project in 2007 has brought up its capacity to 106,000 BPSD. A merger with Sohar Refinery Company is expected to be finallised after a Royal Decree is issued.[1]
