Paul Salvator Goldengreen
Paul Salvator Goldengreen (* Aug. 27 1960 Warburg) is an artist with a new position in the Art Brut /Outsider Art field. He became a sole trader from 1976 to 1979 in Warburg. After the 15month lasting basic military service in the German Army in Munster and Lueneburg 1980/81, he studied at the Westfalenkolleg School in Paderborn 6 semesters from 1982 until the end of 1984 and made his Abitur, gaining it at the so called 2.Bildungsweg. Since autumn 85 he studied Biology in Munster and Bielefeld, concluded the Grundstudium and nearly the whole Hauptstudium, only two examinations missing. In 1991 he left Bielefeld to return home. Parallel to the main subject biology, he almost completed the basic studies in English.
After the death of his mother he became mentally ill in the mid-90s, but Goldengreen overcame the illnes with the help of artistic work. But this isn't enough to him, he strives to develop his own personality and that of the recipient by the arts and by making art. Thus, he significantly differs from positions of the Zustandsgebundene Kunst, state-bound art, a term of Leo Navratil. To Navratil patients make only in the acute stage of their mental illness artistically relevant works, called state-bound art. Goldengreen overcomes the mental illness with the help of the artistic work and is seeking in this way also to differentiate feelings through the refinement of the Artistic technique while maintaining the kind of spontaneity typical for art brut.
Representation in the Gallery Of Inspiration by the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (North America) as a permanent exhibition curated on the Internet. Although he has his origins in the Art therapy this context is opened at "Artecomunicarte" (Central America, Spanish), see Weblinks. In April 2007, the unisono judged participation in the first Outsider Art Market in the Prinzhorn Collection of Heidelberg with 20 paintings.
The donation "Archaic Deity" has been part of the Museum Prinzhorn Collection. She was shown in the the group exhibition "The exhibition is growing".
His growing work includes about 500 mostly large and expressive, colourful images, going together with often highly concentrated and cryptic symbols. There are also several smaller sculptures and about 200 poems about the landscape and free nature and the soul.
