Engine Sentai Go-onger (炎神戦隊ゴーオンジャー, Enjin Sentai Gōonjā, translated as Engine Squadron Go-onger(refactored from [[[α]|Engine]])(refactored from [[[β]|Go-on]])) is the title of Toei Company's thirty-second Super Sentai series of Japanese tokusatsu television dramas.[1]. Story

The Machine World (マシンワールド, Mashin Wārudo) is another reality different than our own in which exists giant vehicular beings called Engines. The Engines waged a war against the Gaiarc, who desired to pollute their world. Losing, the Gaiarc escaped through time and space to enter our world for a more easy location to create their ideal paradise. Three of the Engines managed to pursue them, selecting three humans to become their partners, the Go-ongers. The team are joined by two more Go-ongers chosen by two Engines who manage to enter the human world as well.

(正義のロードは突き進む!炎神戦隊ゴーオンジャー!, Seigi no Rōdo wa tsukisusumu! Enjin Sentai Gōonjā)[2] Advertisements for the series show that the first kana in the Go-ongers' surnames spell "ecology" (「え・こ・ろ・じ・い」(エコロジー), "E・Ko・Ro・Ji・I" (ekorojī)) in Japanese. Arsenal

The Go-ongers' technology revolves around the Engine Souls (炎神ソウル, Enjin Sōru), sentient chip-like items that are hearts of the Engines, whose power they allow the Go-ongers to employ. When not in use, they are kept in the Engine Soul Holster (炎神ソウルホルスター, Enjin Sōru Horusutā).

  • Henshin Cellphone Go-Phone (変身携帯ゴーフォン, Henshin Keitai Gōfon): The primary Go-ongers's transformation devices, installing a chip-like items called Change Souls (チェンジソウル, Chenji Sōru) to evoke the transformation. By installing an Engine Soul in the Go-Phone, the Go-ongers can communicate with their Engine partners.
  • Henshin Brace ShiftChanger (変身ブレスシフトチェンジャー, Henshin Buresu Shifutochenjā): Go-on Green and Go-on Black's transformation devices, use dependant on the Change Souls.

  • Super Highway Buster (ジャンクションライフル, Sūpā Haiwei Basutā): The combination of the Highway Buster and the Junction Rifle. Like the Highway Buster, an Engine Soul-powered Racing Bullet is fired, unleashing the destructive power of the Soul's respective Engine on the target.
    • Highway Buster (ハイウェイバスター, Haiwei Basutā): The combination of the primary Go-ongers' Go-on Gear: the Road Sabre, the Garage Launcher, and the Racing Bullet. When an Engine Soul is set in the weapon, the Racing Bullet is fired, unleashing the destructive power of the Soul's respective Engine on the target.

Engines

The Go-ongers' mecha are the Engines (炎神, Enjin), denizens of Machine World with some of them pursuing the Gaiarc, choosing the Go-ongers as their partners to fight Gaiarc with them. While in the Human World, the Engines cannot exist in their full size and thus remove their Engine Souls to assume small forms called Engine Casts which are kept in the Engine Attache until they are needed, resuming their true size on Earth for only 10 minutes.

Engine Gattai Engine-O (炎神合体エンジンオー, Enjin Gattai Enjin'ō) is the Go-ongers' primary robot, refered to as the "King of Engines." Its finishing attack is the Go-on Grand Prix (ゴーオングランプリ, Gōon Guran Puri), charging the enemy at fullspeed with its Go-on Sword, landing the deathblow as it moves past. It is comprised of:

  1. Engine Speedor (エンジンスピードル, Enjin Supīdoru) is Go-on Red's partner, a hybrid between a condor and a sports car who ends his sentences with "Drrrr Drrr!" (ドルドル!, Doru Doru!). His speed is unmatched, able to travel the length of Japan at full speed within three hours, and can assume a flying mode to use his talons for attacks. He forms the head, chest, and arms.
  2. Engine Bus-on (エンジンバスオン, Enjin Basuon) is Go-on Blue's partner, a hybrid between a lion and a bus who ends his sentences with "Onon Ooonn!" (オンオン オオオンン!, Onon Ooonn!). He has brute strength and Bus Missiles. He forms the hip, legs, and Go-on Sword.
  3. Engine BearRV (エンジンベアールV, Enjin Beārubui) is Go-on Yellow's partner, a gutsy hybrid between a bear and an RV who ends her sentences with "VVV!!" (VVV!, Bui-Bui-Bui!). She can crush enemy aircraft in her mouth. She forms the abdomen and V-Shield.

The secondary Go-ongers' Engines act as combinatory weapons for Engine-O.

  1. Engine Birca (エンジンバルカ, Enjin Baruka) is Go-on Green's partner, a hybrid between an orca and a motorcycle. He is best at quick movements. He forms the left arm of Engine-O Birca (エンジンオーバルカ, Enjin'ō Baruka).
  2. Engine Gunpherd (エンジンガンパード, Enjin Ganpādo) is Go-on Black's partner, a hybrid between a German Shepherd and a police car. He pursues enemies in a hot chase and can combine with Engine-O to form the right arm of Engine-O Gunpherd (エンジンオーガンパード, Enjin'ō Ganpādo).

Bomper

Bomper (ボンパー, Bonpā) is a pink robot created by the Engines to support the Go-ongers, creating the Go-onger arsenal and performing maintenance on the Engines.[3]

Gaiarc

The Go-ongers fight the Barbaric Machine Clan Gaiarc (蛮機族ガイアーク, Bankizoku Gaiāku), machine-men from the Machine World who desire to pollute the Earth. The Gaiarc based themselves in the Hellgaille Palace (ヘルガイユ宮殿, Herugaiyu Kyūden) on an isolated island.

Land Pollution Minister Yogostein (害地大臣ヨゴシュタイン, Gaichi Daijin Yogoshutain)
Golden armored general who leads the Gaiarc's land-based Barbaric Machine Beasts, he uses a spear as his weapon [4]
Water Pollution Minister Kegalesia (害水大臣ケガレシア, Gaisui Daijin Kegareshia)
Human-looking general with a whip, she leads Gaiarc's sea-based Barbaric Machine Beasts.[5]
Air Pollution Minister Kitaneidas (害気大臣キタネイダス, Gaiki Daijin Kitaneidasu)
Leads Gaiarc's sky-based Barbaric Machine Beasts and uses a staff as his weapon. [4]
Barbaric Machine Soldiers Ugatz (蛮機兵ウガッツ, Bankihei Ugattsu)
Android footsoldiers built to support the Barbaric Machine Beasts and pilot the Bandoumas.
Barbaric Dohma (蛮ドーマ, Bandōma)
Jet fighters which can assume a frog-like walking mode. Though normally used by the Ugatz, the Pollution Ministers piloted their own Bandoumas before escaping to Earth.

Barbaric Machine Beasts

The Barbaric Machine Beasts (蛮機獣, Bankijū) are monsters created to pollute the Earth. They are each separated into one of three types that are under the Pollution Ministers: Savage Ground (蛮地, Banchi), Savage Sea (蛮水, Bansui), and Savage Sky (蛮気, Banki). The Barbaric Machine Beasts are each upgraded with a special energy called Bikkurium Energy (ビックリウムエナジー, Bikkuriumu Enajī) that enlarges them upon being defeated in battle, in a process called Industrial Revolution (産業革命, Sangyō Kakumei), however this process can be activated while the Barbaric Machine Beast is still alive. They are named putting the suffix "Banki" (バンキ, Banki) after the name of the object they are based on.

  • Shoukyaku Banki (ショウキャクバンキ, Shōkyaku Banki, 1): An incinerator (焼却炉, shōkyakuro) Savage Sky Barbaric Machine Beast under Kitaneidas, putting stuff into the furnace on his forehead to induce smog and perform his attacks. Shoukyaku Banki prefers to burn flowers and anything pretty to improve the toxicity of his smog. He fails in his mission when the Go-ongers arrive, and is forcefully upgraded by the Pollution Ministers. Shoukyaku Banki is the first to be scrapped by Engine-O.
  • Pipe Banki (パイプバンキ, Paipu Banki, 2): A pipe (パイプ, paipu) Savage Water Barbaric Machine Beast sent by Kegalesia. He, at first, is sent to pollute a dam, but is defeated by the Go-ongers after suceeding. He then returns later to pollute the river in giant form, attacking the Go-ongers once learning they are without their Engine Casts. But once the three get them back, Pipe Banki is then scrapped by Engine-O after a messy situation.
  • Scoop Banki (スコップバンキ, Sukoppu Banki, 3): A scoop (スコップ, sukoppu) Savage Land Barbaric Machine Beast sent by Yogostien to commit deforestation.

Notes

Template:Ent "Engine" (炎神, Enjin) literally translates as "Flame God." The logo for the series uses the English word "Engine" in the title instead of the romanization of the kanji as "Enjin." Template:Ent "Go-onger" (ゴーオンジャー, Gōonjā) is a portmanteau of the Japanese words for "thunderous sound" (轟音, gōon) and "Ranger" (レンジャー, Renjā). It is also related to the English words "go on." Template:Ent "MantanGun" (マンタンガン, Mantangan) comes from the Japanese phrase for "fill 'er up" (満タン, mantan).
