No Skeletor in France?
About this paragraph: In France He-Man is known as "Musclor", however the show's theme song was not altered and so the back-up singers still chant "He-Man" in the opening and during the cartoon. The French opening also lacks the translated yell of the intro sequence "and the Masters of the Universe" which was included in almost all other dubs (the Danish and Swedish dubs were also missing the additional title-chant). Originally no episodes featuring Skeletor appeared in France, which included the majority of the first season of the original cartoon, as the concept of a villain with a skull face was considered too horrific for children.
This assessment needs a source/citation, and badly. I saw the cartoons in France in the 1980s and I have absolutely no memory of Skeletor missing from the first episodes. All the French kids of my generation would have gone mad if we had had a MOTU cartoon without Skeletor. Plus, France was already having uncensored anime on the air in these days. Skeletor was no big deal compared to Grendizer or Space Cobra.
- I can take a look again but my recollection is that Alan Oppenheimer says this himself on the commentary for the Secret of the Sword DVD. Timrollpickering 11:38, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
- I have asked French members of the He-Man.org forums is no Skeletor rumour is true or not, and a number have confirmed that it is an urban myth. Jay Firestorm (talk) 17:06, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
Animated Movie
I read this article 5 times. I could have sworn there was an animated He-Man movie.

General Editing
Added a reference to the "moral of the story" part of the '83 TV episodes in the appropriate section. Also moved a sentence concerning the manufacture of the toys out of the TV show section and into the MOTU Action Figures section. CM
Movie
NOTE TO EDITORS: Please consult he-man.org before making any edits regarding the rumored new He-Man movie. Rumors regarding this supposed project are circulating around the net but he-man.org's administrators have confirmed repeatedly that there is no truth in any of them. The project has been discussed in Hollywood but has not been green-lit and many are skeptical that it will ever come into being- if anything official is ever announced it will be posted on the main page of he-man.org. New Comic?
Perhaps there should be a discussion on the new comic series? It seems to have extensive extrapolation on the MOTU universe (I haven't read much of it yet), and would fit well considering we already have the two previous comic book incarnations well described here. Perhaps someone with a good knowledge of the comic could add to the article? Ownzilla 17:23, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
merge
I proposed merging text from article The Three Towers into this article. Otherwise it's insufficient to stand on its ownRichardjames444 02:38, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
- Should be merged with Eternia instead I think. I'll be bold and change it. Essexmutant 07:22, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
Skeletor/Keldor
In the original series, was it ever revealed that Skeletor was Keldor, King Randor's brother? I know in the 2002 version it was explicitly shown that he was, but I'm not sure about the original series, can anyone help?--NeilEvans 23:40, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
- No it was not, and it is not entirely accurate to say this was revealed to be the case in the 2002 series. In the original series Skeletor was referred to as a 'demon from another dimension' and the series had ended before the idea of Keldor even came about. The Keldor idea was thought up by the mini-comic writers in 1986, who wrote the mini-comic "The Search for Keldor" which hints, but by no means confirms, that Keldor may have become Skeletor. The writers apparently intended to reveal the story of how he transformed in the 'Powers of Grayskull' mini-comic series, but the line was scrapped so the story was never told.
- In the 2002 series, Skeletor was revealed to have previously been a man named Keldor who became Skeletor after being scarred by acid and his life saved by Hordak, but there was no indication that he was Randor's brother. No such connection was ever even hinted at within the content of the show, although Ian Richter, head of story development, later revealed in an interview that the plan had been to reveal Keldor as Randor's half-brother at the end of the series. Hope this helps. Mosquitor 02:54, 31 August 2006 (GMT)
- I was sure that in the very 1st episode of 2002 version, Keldor and Randor were fighting and one of them refered to the other as brother.--NeilEvans 19:15, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
- Nope, not at all. There is a fight sequence between them at the beginning of the episode, but they address one another as nothing but 'Keldor' and 'Randor'. There was no mere hint of them being brothers, as Keldor was going to be revealed as Randor's half-brother in a twist in the closing stages of the series.--Mosquitor 20:47, 31 August 2006 (GMT)
- OK thanks for the help--NeilEvans 23:57, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

Skeletor's Laugh
"The Italian dub is the only one to have a unique laughter for Skeletor." That's absolutely not true. The Brazilian dub had an all new version for the laugher, which is in itself a pop culture icon. The actor who dubbed Skeletor (Garcia Jr.) (and ost of the original cast, including He-man (Isaac Bardavich) and Man-at-Arms (Márcio Simões) returned to dub the 2002 version, making it a must watch to every kid raised in the 80s. He-Man had such impact that both Garcia Jr. and Isaac Bardavich are regarded on main stream press as "voice of he-man and skeletor". I will try to find an article or sound clip. Original Research
A lot of the article, especially in the section of the movie, is heavy on original reasearch in the form of fan speculation, rumors, and fanwanking. I've tagged that section accordingly. If this information is not published in a source such as book, magazine, etc. (and in most cases these theories" come mainly from internet message boards and such), it should be removed. If information on where contradictions between the film and the cartoon etc. occur, the reader should be able to form their own opinions on the relevence of this and how it can be rectified without editorializing. There needs to be a template page for MotU
Just my personal two cents, but it would make it easier to connect all the various parts of the MotU universe. I have no idea how to do it, but it seems like most TV shows and movies have one. DandyDan2007 23:58, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
- Hey I agree there are about 200 individual articles relating to the franchise and I think a Nav template would benefit all interested in this area. I'm gonna try and make one.--NeilEvans 22:27, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
- Here is an example of a template, it's on my sandbox space for now, can people take a look and make suggestions for additions or any changes. If people like it then it can "go live", so to speak.--NeilEvans 00:18, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
Masters of the Universe WikiProject
I have proposed a Project here if people are interested they can show their support a hopefully we could get a simple WikiProject up and running to coordinate efforts to expand and improve all Masters of the Universe articles.--NeilEvans 22:27, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:NewAdventuresCartoon.jpg
Image:NewAdventuresCartoon.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
