OpenGEU is an Ubuntu-based Linux distribution. It was previously known as Geubuntu.[1] It uses the Enlightenment window manager, supplemented with elements from GNOME and Xfce. Geubuntu is a Linux distro based on Ubuntu: it joins the simplicity of GNOME Desktop Environment with the beauty of Enlightment window manager. The most recent version, Geubuntu 7.10 "Luna Nuova", will be the last Geubuntu version, which is going to give birth to OpenGEU. OpenGEU 7.10 Luna Nuova is available, and it will be a transition to OpenGEU 8.04, based on Ubuntu 8.04 "Hardy Heron".
Installation
The distribution is available as DesktopCD, so that it can be used either as LiveCD or installable on PC. The installation is almost identical to the Ubuntu's one, because it uses the program "Ubuiquity".
Pre-installed software
OpenGEU has a lot of pre-installed programs, the same as Ubuntu. However, there are a lot of packages available from its repositories, created especially for it.
Graphic
It is very attractive, it doesn't require powerful hardware, and it has Compiz Fusion-like graphic effects, but they are less invasive and more elegant.
