Musician entomologists
Would Georg Friedrich Treitschke be the man who worked with Ferdinand Ochsenheimer. I have gone ahead and marked him as a lepidopterist from whatever I could find on the net, but precious little available there. The monsoon ends soon, time to go out and see the rich life in the forests... cheers Shyamal 02:13, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you. Musician, actor, lepidopterist. What a wonderful combination. Good to see you back ! Shyamal 08:48, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

Moving images
The only easy way to copy images from one wikipedia to the commons is to manually copy it from the German wikipedia to Hard-disk and hard-disk to commons and retain the permission statement as given. This is would be be fine in all cases except those marked as copyrighted fair-use images. Let me know the image in question and I could try to help as well. Shyamal 09:10, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Galleria Alberto Sordi
A tag has been placed on Galleria Alberto Sordi, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per CSD A1.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. Hazel77 13:25, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

Dear Robert, the book has descriptions in Latin and German (Gothic), so the OCR program (which converts images of text to editable text) runs into trouble. Links to NHM
You have just added links to this in several articles about entomologists. I fail to see the relevance of that link to the articles. This looks to me like spam, and I usually just revert such questionable links and move on. I suggest that you adjust the links to point to a page in the database that makes clear the connection to each entomologist. -- Donald Albury 21:41, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Simon Wilkin and John Burrel
Hi, Notafly! Thanks for the message. Unfortunately, being Norfolk rather than Suffolk, places these two gents beyond the scope of most of my ready-to-hand crib sources, and I don't recognise either of them as having been involved in Ipswich Museum affairs, which is where I might have known them from. Are they in Kirby's biography (which I haven't got)? At present the best I can do is put them on a mental list of folk to watch out for and then react when they pop up.... Sorry I can't do much better, but if I can think of whom to ask I will send an inquiry over to Norwich Mus. Best wishes, Eebahgum (talk) 17:50, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

Brauer
Does not look like we have the limnologist-entomologist-zoologist August Bernhard Brauer - not as famous as the dipterist Friedrich Moritz Brauer. Fair number of his works scanned on the Biodiversity Heritage Library - http://www.biodiversitylibrary.org/creator/1320 and http://www.archive.org/details/diessswasserfa05brau . Bumped into him as I was researching this beautiful image of a Dobsonfly - http://www.indianaturewatch.net/displayimage.php?id=41248 - never seen one taken from India. All the butterflies this far uploaded with old descriptions where possible. Shyamal (talk) 04:08, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
