In a Perfect World is the debut album by American singer Keri Hilson.[1] The album was slated for release in mid 2007,[2] but was pushed back to 2008.[3]

Background

Hilson explained the title as the following,

It’s my way of saying nothing in the world is perfect and no person in it is, either. None of us is exempt from certain hardships and heartbreaks. It was really important for me to write songs that women can relate to from real situations. I didn’t want to do an album that painted myself as perfect because no matter how things look, no one is.[1]

Production

The album will include production by Hilson's common collaborators, Timbaland, who is the executive producer of the album, Danja, Polow da Don and others while boasting writing credits from fellow Timbaland-collaborator, Justin Timberlake and her writing and production collective, The Clutch.[4]

Songs

Polow da Don confirmed in an interview with Rap-Up that the first single would be "Henny and Apple Juice", which featured Ludacris and Snoop Dogg.[5] However, it was confirmed at the Verizon and People show dedicated to Timbaland that Hilson's first single would be "Return the Favor", which Hilson performed at the show.[6]
