Ann Sexton, under her real name of Mary Burton was rediscovered by a co worker NYC Blues harmonica legend Sonny Hudson at the Bronx,NY school where she works as a paraprofessional. While he was listening to Old Southern R&b one day,she mentioned to him she once was once signed to a label. After researching her on the internet,Hudson spent close to 2 years convincing her to perform again.Due to inquiries about Sexton, a German DJ and promoter Dan Dombrowe and Sonny Hudson(acting as her informal manager and booking agent ) were put in touch with each other and began serious negotiations. After a lengthy period, she agreed to go on stage again after 30 years of absence. Hudson accompanied her to Europe and on March, 2007 she made her first performance since the 70s at the Baltic Soul Weekender (Germany) - and it was amazing. Sexton and Hudson have since parted ways. She will perform again at the Baltic Soul Weekender (Germany) in April 2008 (25.-27.04.08), one of her rare live appearances on stage.
