HELOC freeze

The HELOC freeze refers to the nearly simultaneous freezing of home equity line of credit loan by major lenders in 2008. Such lines were frozen in specific geographic areas and affected more than 100,000 borrows.[citation needed] Countrywide Financial froze the most HELOC loans.
