SM City North EDSA is one of the biggest and first shopping malls in the Philippines and the sixth largest shopping mall in the world, the first major shopping complex established by Henry Sy and his company SM Prime Holdings, the largest retail corporation in the country. It is located at the intersection of North Avenue and Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA) in Quezon City, approximately a kilometre west of Quezon City Hall and 10 kilometres north of Makati City. Since its establishment in 1983, it has gone several major expansions and renovations, and features a bowling alley, food court, garden, entertainment center and 12-theatre cinema amongst the SM Hypermarket and its 820 specialty shops and restaurants. History

The mall was inaugurated in November 1985, the first mall to be opened by SM. The mall was then composed of just the main building and outdoor parking areas.
