It plays a variety of music ranging from alternative, to metal as well as some country as well as classic rock. In 2005, WQRI received the contract to rebroadcast Providence Bruins weekend games. These games can be heard both on 88.3 as well as the live stream that is on the internet. Also in 2005, WQRI began to offer stream on the internet, which can be heard worldwide.

One of the main objectives of WQRI is to promote music of any kind. They do promotions with local bands, as well as have at least one concert a year.

WQRI Concerts

In 2006, WQRI co-sponsored a concert with the Roger Williams Musician Guild. The concert was the first of what the organization believed would be an annual concert. The headliner for the 2006 WQRI Spring Concert was Aloha. WQRI continued the concert in 2007 and organized the second annual WQRI spring concert with co-headliners Spiritual Rez and Apollo Sunshine.
