Severe weather phenomena are weather conditions that are hazardous.

Examples include:

• arctic cyclone
• blizzard
• cyclone (including European windstorms)
• drought
• derecho
• gustnado
• heat wave
• ice storm
• monsoon
• supercell
• thunderstorm
• tornado (also referred to as a whirlwind or twister)
• tropical cyclone (also called a hurricane, typhoon, or "cyclone")

Phenomena caused by severe weather include:

• flood

• forest fire

• landslide, mudslide

• avalanche

• derecho
