List of current champions in WWE
The following is a list of all current champions in World Wrestling Entertainment, as of December 24, 2024. There are six active singles championships: the WWE Championship, World Heavyweight Championship, ECW Championship, Intercontinental Championship, United States Championship and Women's Championship; as well as two tag team championships: the World and WWE Tag Team Championships. There are nine wrestlers (with one vacancy) that hold these championships on the company's three brands: Raw, SmackDown!, and ECW. The list includes the number of times the wrestler has held the title, the date and location of the win, and a description of the winning bout.
At the top of WWE's championship hierarchy, Triple H is the current holder of the WWE Championship, the World Heavyweight Championship is currently vacant, and Kane represents ECW's ECW Championship. Triple H is the newest top-tier champion in WWE and is in his seventh reign. He won the title at Backlash in a Fatal Four Way Elimination match by pinning the champion Randy Orton in the end (the match also included John Cena and JBL). Kane's first ECW Championship reign began with a victory over Chavo Guerrero at WrestleMania XXIV in a match that lasted only 8 seconds.
Other champions in WWE include Chris Jericho who is in his eighth reign as Intercontinental Champion, a record number for that championship. Matt Hardy is in his first reign as United States Champion, ending MVP's longest reign as champion in WWE history. Currently in her fourth reign as Women's Champion, Mickie James toppled Beth Phoenix on April 14, 2008 to capture the title, ending Phoenix's six month reign as champion. World Tag Team Champions Hardcore Holly (who is in his third individual reign) and Cody Rhodes won their titles on December 10, 2007 by defeating Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch. The tag team of John Morrison and The Miz represent SmackDown's tag champions, having won the WWE Tag Team Championship on November 13, 2007 (marking Morrison's 4th reign as WWE Tag Team Champion). While they are members of the ECW brand, SmackDown and ECW superstars compete alongside one another and as such members from each brand can challenge for the opposite brand's championships.
