The Highland Football League is a league of football (soccer) clubs operating in North Scotland. Formed over 100 years ago, it is considered by many the best of the 'non-league' associations in Scotland.

Many of the member clubs have performed very well when competing against Scottish Football League (SFL) clubs in the Scottish Cup.

The league has been somewhat weakened in recent years by the departure of many former members who have subsequently joined the SFL. This happened in 1994 when Caledonian FC, Inverness Thistle and Ross County left, and in 2000, when Elgin City and Peterhead left.
