"Gnothi Seauton" is the second episode of the American television series Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. It aired January 14, 2008 in the United States. The episode's title is Greek for "know thyself." During the episode Sarah comments on the origin of the phrase and what it means for her and John.
Plot
The episode begins with a time bubble opening and Cromartie's severed endo skull as the only part of Cromartie that transported before the bubble closed. It bounces of the grass and is found by a highway employee who keeps it for himself. Cromartie later kills the man and reconnects its head with the rest of his body which was also transported after being blown apart when Sarah fired the isotope-fueled weapon in the pilot episode.
Three days later, John desires to go outside. But Sarah is concerned that they need new identities first. Cameron takes Sarah to meet resistance agents from 2027, who were sent back to provide supplies such as money and weapons. When the two arrive at the safe house they find the resistance agents have been slaughterd. A Terminator poses as an agent and flees the safe house. Cameron and Sarah give pursuit but the Terminator manges to escape. Later, while driving home Cameron reveals to Sarah that she died from cancer in 2005.
Back at home John becomes impatient and secretly goes outside. He goes to an electronics store and finds that Sarah and John are both presumed dead after blowing themselves up in a bank eight years ago. He also discovers that FBI Agent Ellison was the one investigating there case. John then goes to Charleys house and finds that he has married. John is discovered when Charley arrives home. Charley comes closer so John incapacitates him and flees. Sarah suggests seeing Enrique to get new identities. Sarah discovers that Enrique is a traitor and breaks into his house. She hesitates at Enriques explanation. Cameron then shoots and kills Enrique explaining that Sarah wouldn't. Later, Sarah is seen in a hospital undergoing tests, presumably to see if she will die of cancer. Sarah gets their new identities, with a surname of Baum. Cromartie's reactivated head connects to its body, but conceals itself in heavy disguise amongst the homeless with goggles and a paintball mask, sice it has no biological covering. At the end Agent Ellison is seen at the crime scene at Enrique's house listening to a recording he made just before he was killed offering to reveal the identity and whereabouts of a fugitive.
