Unfree images

Thanks for listing the images from flickr at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images. A couple of tips though... Firstly, don't remove the license tag that has been applied by the uploader when you add the {{PUIdisputed}} tag as this needs to stay in place while the investigation into its copyright status takes place. Secondly, where there is clear evidence that the license given conflicts with the original source information, you may which to just tag with {{db-copyvio}}, as the image can just be speedily deleted. Best wishes. Madmedea 19:07, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

UK and EU trademark applications

You removed mention of UK trademark application by Apple for the iPhone because "the uk is in the european union". The UK is indeed in the EU. However, trademark applications are often made in both the UK and the EU because of some key differences in the two laws, as was the case for the iPhone. Please read here [[1]] for more detail. I have reverted your change. --AJKGordon 08:16, 25 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

'Cornish' sign

Hi there, I was just interested in that pic you added to the Cornish language article. I'm curious because the gloss of the English warning reads perfectly...but it's in Welsh! Now, I don't speak Cornish, and I know the two languages are related, but I'm pretty sure there's some kind of mix-up here. Any thoughts? :) Rob Lindsey (talk) 22:38, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Penwith Wikiproject & Cornwall Wikiproject

Hi, I see you are a member of the Cornwall Wikiproject. A proposal has been made to merge the Penwith Wikiproject into it. You can join in the debate here. Best wishes, DuncanHill (talk) 12:24, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

St Mabyn

Why did you delete the link to Triggshire from the St Mabyn village article? You gave no edit summary. Teapotgeorge (talk) 13:49, 10 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Including the Hundreds of Cornwall within the lead section isn't really informative and provides unnecessary information. The hundreds don't exist anymore and if it were not for being a Wikipedia contributor I wouldn't have any clue they ever existed at all, despite living in Cornwall all my life. I feel they would be more suited to the History section, not the lead. Take a look at Wikipedia:Lead_section and Wikipedia:UKCITIES#Lead.2A. --Joowwww (talk) 14:15, 10 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I understand...I will add it to the history section at some point because if nothing links to the Triggshire page... it becomes an orphaned article!Teapotgeorge (talk) 14:22, 10 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I think it's better that you cite your sources for what you just added. We're now on tight patrol of whatever content that has been added into the article and which must have a source. Too many mistakes had happened in this article in the past, so help out if you can though. Thanks.

WikiProject Beijing

Hey Joowwww! I'm currently planning the launch of the WikiProject Beijing, depending on if enough other editors would be interested in such a project. I saw you have edited the main Beijing page recently and therefor might be interested. If you are, please sign: User:Poeloq/WikiProject_Beijing. As I am posting this to quite a few editors, I am not watching your page and would ask you to reply with any comment or questions on my talk page. Cheers, Poeloq (talk) 20:13, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

International Tibet Independence Movement

In the article International Tibet Independence Movement you added a referenced statement about Dalai Lama not wanting independence. I cannot find that statement in the reference. Can you check it again? Ansiwen (talk) 17:18, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's located about half way down the article: "He reaffirmed that he wanted autonomy for Tibet within China, but not outright independence." This isn't the only reference for his statement, there are countless other news articles which he has been quoted as saying that in. --Joowwww (talk) 17:21, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome!

Template:Cornwall

I would like discussion to take place at the template talk page please, thereby allowing members of the wider WP:UKGEO and WP:ENGLAND communities to contribute their thoughts. I would add that you haven't made any contribution to the talk page there and thus there've been no objections, thereby asserting an uncodified consensus by default. --Jza84 |  Talk  11:26, 28 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hong Kong

Please don't blame me for breaking the infobox code and revert the attempts to fix it. It's broken by something external to the article and I'm trying to fix it. Every version in the history shows the same formatting problem as well. SchmuckyTheCat (talk)

I apologise, I was trying to fix it and just realised it wasn't your fault :-) --Joowwww (talk) 13:52, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Apparently it's on infobox country, it affects everything that uses it. I reverted the template backwards a month and it didn't seem to fix it. Unless the revert to the template didn't hit the cache while updating the display. Other than reverting their history, I'm not going near that code mess of a template. We'll just have to wait. SchmuckyTheCat (talk)

You don't appear to have completed the nomination instructions at WP:FAR (step 6); please do so, and post the notice back on the FAR page. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 03:42, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I was wrong, you were right - editor blocked 3 days and warned on future slow revert war. LessHeard vanU (talk) 10:19, 8 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have utilized Image:2008 Sichuan earthquake extent.svg to illustrate the In The News template on the Main Page. It appears that you foresee the need for future updates, but I don't know what sort of time frame you were thinking of. Would you like me to upload a separate copy of the image specifically for the Main Page, so you can continue updating, or do you not foresee the need for an update in the near term? Thanks for the great image, BanyanTree 12:23, 12 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I can update the image as soon as it requested, I was mainly thinking about any updates/changes of the maximum extent that it was felt. There haven't been any issues raised with it so far, so I can't see it needing updating constantly in the short term. --Joowwww (talk) 15:43, 12 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Alright. Please let me know if an issue comes up that I can help with. - BanyanTree 23:16, 12 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sichuan earthquake map

I just wanted to say thank you for the map showing the epicentre of the Sichuan earthquake. It's excellent, very clear and simple, gives exactly the information I wanted. Thanks! GyroMagician (talk) 16:53, 12 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion - I think the map would be improved by adding a small "region key" box to show where whis area is, in rlation to China. For an example of what I mean, see bbc news. --  Chzz  ►  18:08, 12 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I don't know what you mean, you can see where Sichuan is in relation to China because all of China is shown on the map. --Joowwww (talk) 18:14, 12 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

China map color

Hello, Joowwww. I saw your new map and the colors are too similar to distinguish the disputed areas and the mainland of China, so I changed the main blank map and color index. Well, you may also revert my edit if the color is unsatisfied. I just want to help, but after the map were uploaded, I realized that related maps should be applied with the changed color. Well, I expect your response. Thanks.--Appletrees (talk) 20:19, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, thanks for the feedback. This was discussed before, and I actually changed the colour of the surrounding areas before after someone else commented on it. You can see the discussion of the map at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_China#Maps_proposal. I can understand your changes but I felt they were a little too vibrant, and one of the problems I had with the previous map was that the focus wasn't on which province was being highlighted, but it was focused on the disputed areas, which isn't the primary purpose of the maps. I've reverted your edit as I'd like to keep the colours harmonious but I'm sure we can reach a compromise with a change of colours with some discussion. :-) --Joowwww (talk) 20:28, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Edit: Also, the colours are of an equivalent shade as the Featured map Image:India-locator-map-blank.svg --Joowwww (talk) 20:33, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Relied at the project page, and India map does only shows a little part of the neighboring countries. Besides, the abbreviation as PRC is also not advisable to be spelled for common readers.--Appletrees (talk) 20:43, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your article about China earthquake

I was moved when i saw your article about China earthquake. Thanks to you for report our country news when we need help. But at this time, about 2,000 people is dead...... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lly936 (talkcontribs) 11:59, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the kind words, but most of it wasn't written by me, it was written by the many Wikipedia contributors you'll see in the history tab of the article. --Joowwww (talk) 12:34, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi my company is embarking on a corporate-staff match-funded program to collect relief funds for China victims.

Any chance you could send me a jpg copy of this map?

Many thanks,
