Welcome, and thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test on the page Salou, Spain worked, and it has been reverted or removed. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you would like to experiment further, please use the sandbox. Thank you.  Channel ®    22:21, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, the recent edit you made to Scotland has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Use the sandbox for testing; if you believe the edit was constructive, ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing. Thanks. treelo talk 20:02, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop making test edits to Wikipedia. It is considered vandalism, which, under Wikipedia policy, can lead to blocking of editing privileges. If you would like to experiment again, please use the sandbox. --John (talk) 20:09, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is your last warning. You will be blocked from editing the next time you vandalize a page, as you did with this edit to Kilmarnock town centre. treelo talk 20:22, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop. If you continue to blank out or delete portions of page content, templates or other materials from Wikipedia, as you did to Lindsay McKenzie, you will be blocked from editing. Kevin Forsyth (talk) 16:43, 6 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please remember to mark your edits, such as your recent edits to Kilmarnock Standard, as minor if (and only if) they genuinely are minor edits (see Help:Minor edit). Marking a major change as a minor one is considered poor etiquette. The rule of thumb is that only an edit that consists solely of spelling corrections, formatting changes, or rearranging of text without modifying content should be flagged as a 'minor edit.' Thank you. Kevin Forsyth (talk) 21:37, 8 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of The Dick Institute

A tag has been placed on The Dick Institute requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding hangon to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. -- Mentisock 11:20, 11 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:Kilmarnock k54001.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

The file also doesn't have a copyright tag, so one must be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the GFDL-self tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as article name or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 17:54, 11 May 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ... discospinster talk 17:54, 11 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

An image that you uploaded, Image:Kilmarnock k54001.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Copyright problems because it is a suspected copyright violation. Please look there if you know that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), and then provide the necessary information there and on its page, if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Kevin Forsyth (talk) 18:38, 11 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Hurlfordkillie - it's nice to see your enthusiasm in adding to the Kilmarnock page and its wikilinks. I would however respectfully ask that you check to see if a section already exists (such as Burns Monument) before adding already existing information. In the landmarks section there is a wikilink to The Burns Monument page yet you have added more or less the same information to the Kilmarnock page - effectively duplicating. In a similar vein, you have created a Kilmarnock Cross page and yet it is confusing as it starts with King Street and then Portland Street and eventually Kilmarnock Cross Please don't take offence but please consider the comment with a view to improving or enhancing the pages rather than duplicating. cheers(Mccarthystumble (talk) 18:50, 13 May 2008 (UTC))[reply]

Speedy deletion of Saxone

A tag has been placed on Saxone requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader.

Laigh Kirk

Please do not add copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to Laigh Kirk. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. The entirety of your edit was taken directly from this site. Kevin Forsyth (talk) 19:54, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Concerning your contribution, Image:Robert burns kay park heade.jpg, please note that Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text or images obtained from other web sites or printed material, without the permission of the author(s). This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.scotlandone.com/editorial/ayrshire/kilmarnock_kay_park_burns_monument/index.htm. As a copyright violation, Image:Robert burns kay park heade.jpg appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. Image:Robert burns kay park heade.jpg has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.

If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

 • If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at Talk:Image:Robert burns kay park heade.jpg and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
 • If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Image:Robert burns kay park heade.jpg with a link to where we can find that note.
 • If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on Talk:Image:Robert burns kay park heade.jpg.

However, for textual content, you may simply consider rewriting the content in your own words. Thank you. Kevin Forsyth (talk) 15:33, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of "Kirklandside Hospital"

A page you created, Kirklandside Hospital, has been tagged for deletion in accordance with our deletion policy. In particular, it meets one or more criteria for speedy deletion; the relevant criterion is:

No indication of importance/significance. An article about a real person, group of people, band, club, company, organisation, or web content that does not indicate why its subject is important or significant.

Wikipedia has certain standards for inclusion that all articles must meet. Certain types of article must establish the notability of their subject by asserting its importance or significance. Additionally, since Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, content inappropriate for an encyclopedia, or content that would be more suited to somewhere else (such as a directory or social networking website) is not acceptable. See What Wikipedia is not for the relevant policy.

You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

If you have any questions, please contact an administrator for assistance. Thank you J.delanoygabsadds 17:00, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
