L-1 Identity Solutions, Inc. is a large[1] American defense contractor in Connecticut formed from a merger of Viisage Technology, Inc. and Identix Incorporated (29 August 2006). It specializes in selling face recognition, passports[2], and other biometric technology to governments such as the United States or Saudi Arabia, and licensing technology to others such as Chinese companies.
