Inserting your own website URL into articles

Hi. I don't know if you are aware, but it is not permissible to insert external links to websites you have developed into Wikipedia articles, even if the link may prove to be a valuable source of information. The guideline on conflict of interest goes some way to explaining why, also the one on insertion of linkspam, although I assume that this does not apply to your good faith edits to such articles as David Bowie. I have reverted your edits in line with the guidelines, and suggest that you approach the article's interested editors (which you will find by clicking the History tab at the top), or post to the relevant article talk page to ask if someone would consider your site a valuable resource for the article in question, then let them insert it.
