The City Drive is a Los Angeles-based band. The band includes Danny Smith (vocals, guitar, piano), Chris Perry (lead guitar, backing vocals), Marc Precilla (drums), and Jake Rodenhouse (bass). They have recorded with producer Mike Green (who has worked with Yellowcard, The Matches, Over It, Rufio) as well as producer Chris Fudurich (Jimmy Eat World, Finch, Nada Surf, Rx Bandits).
2004-2005
In March 2004, The City Drive (TCD) performed on the opening night of the South by Southwest in Austin, Texas. In June, they joined the Nokia Core Tour.[citation needed]
In December 2004, The City Drive signed a record deal with We The People/Sony Records. They spent 2005 spent touring and recording their debut, full-length CD, Always Moving Never Stopping, with Chris Fudurich which features backing vocals by Rachel Haden (Jimmy Eat World's Bleed American, Weezer, Beck, That Dog, The Rentals).
2006-present
The City Drive played dates on the Vans Warped Tour for the first time in the summer of 2006, not long after opening for multi-platinum-selling artist Hoobastank. Later that same year, TCD toured the east coast with Allister and Self Against City, and embarked on a national tour with Las Vegas band Fletch. The album Always Moving Never Stopping was released on June 27, 2006.
The band's music has been heard on television (Celebrity Poker Showdown, Runaway) in major motion pictures (Yours, Mine & Ours,[1] American Pie Presents: Band Camp[2]) and appeared in the music publication Alternative Press magazine.[citation needed]
In 2007, bassist Scott Waldman left the band and went on to pursue his own music, forming a band called Lido Beach. He was replaced by Jake Rodenhouse
