British Slang vs. Pejorative term

Aren't the "British slang" definition of "sod" and the "pejorative" definition of "sod" really the same thing (i.e. short for sodomite)? Taco Deposit | Talk-o Deposit 21:41, Oct 26, 2004 (UTC)

I think the name for a sod house I read somewhere is soddie, don't know if the spelling is right, but someone might consider adding that to the section of the article on sod houses.

Installing Sod

installing sod should be it's own page or a section within the article, not in the beginning section. Cite sources!

First mowing of freshly installed sod

At the beginning of a prestigious building project there is often a ceremonial occasion attended by local dignitaries. A senior dignitary is often given the honour of Cutting the first sod, marking the official beginning of the project.

Moved this to the talk page. This paragraph refers to the British term "cut the first sod" which is equivalent to the American term "break ground". I don't really think this is in scope for the article.. thoughts? Perel (talk) 22:11, 30 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
