The people working on this article should consider adding titles here; it makes the whole think more readable. -The Bold Guy- 11:44, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have a problem with the third to last sentence stating he lived in a double-wide trailer inside the park until he died. Who provided this information and where are the sources? I believe they are misinformed. GregM1565 9:00, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

Political Importance

Knott was responsible for funding the 1964 television speech of Ronald Reagan endorsing Barry Goldwater (see Chapter 22, William F. Buckley, Flying High: Remembering Barry Goldwater (2008)). According to the Wikipedia article on the former president, this speech was "the event that lauched Reagan's political career." Thus Knott's arranging the financing seems pretty important and deserves mention.

I suspect Knott was a larger presence in Orange County conservative issues and in philanthrophy than the article suggests.
