Plaza del Norte is a regional shopping mall located Hatillo, Puerto Rico. It is the largest shopping center in the northwest of Puerto Rico, and the main shopping center in Aguadilla and Arecibo regions, followed by Aguadilla Mall, Plaza del Atlantico in Arecibo, and Puerto Rico Prime Outlets in Barceloneta.
History
Plaza del Norte opened its doors in 1992. In 2005 the mall was acquired by, Developers Diversified Realty Corporation (DDR), which is the company that currently owns the center.
Today
Plaza del Norte is the largest shopping center in the region. The mall consists of a total of 122 stores and fast food restaurants. It is achored by Wal-Mart, Sears, and JCPenney.
