Prince of Persia: The Fallen King is the Nintendo DS counterpart to the upcoming game, Prince of Persia. It utilizes the Nintendo DS stylus and touchscreen and is expected to be released alongside its console counterpart.[1]

Storyline

The story begins with the Prince, who is in danger, seeking sanctuary in a deserted kingdom that is seemingly safe. The kingdom, which has been touched by an evil corruption that twists objects out of proportion and threatens to devour everything it touches, is filled with many obstacles as the Prince seeks a way to protect himself from the corruption. In his search, the Prince discovers a creature who has been only partially touched by the corruption; the Magus. Embracing this dark, non-trustworthy character seems vital in saving the kingdom from corruption.

Gameplay

The game uses an obviously less advanced engine then its counterpart, but it has been stated that there are over 50 different environments to explore, including deserted cities, dark labyrinths and forbidding jungles. The Prince will be fighting alongside a new ally, not Elika, but a new character: the Magus. The Magus is a playable character, and it has been stated that you can switch between the Prince and the Magus to utilize either the Prince's acrobatic fighting abilities, or the Magus' magic. As the Prince advances, he will be fighting Corruption, similar to the game's console counterpart, although it has not been revealed if this Corruption is produced by Ahriman. This game will also make use of the touchscreen and stylus style gameplay of the Nintendo DS, and will features acrobatics, fighting, and puzzle solving. The art style used is said to be similar to the "illustrative" art style used in the console counterparts.
