California State Route 91 is a road, a freeway for all but a few seaward miles of its length, going between Redondo Beach in the west and Colton in the east.

Although the 91 is an east-west road, it inherited its odd number from the former U.S. Route 91 which continued from the Inland Empire in a northeasterly direction for Las Vegas, Salt Lake, and points beyond That part of U.S. 91 is now the greater part of Interstate 15.
