Lola... Érase una vez (Lola ... Once Upon A Time) is a Mexican telenovela (soap opera) produced by Televisa, the telenovela is a remake of the worldwide famous argentine telenovela "Floricienta" from 2004. It debuted February 26, 2007, starring Aarón Díaz and Eiza Gonzalez.

The series, produced by Pedro Damián and originally created by Cris Morena (who also produced Rebelde) , portrays the fictional life of a modern Cinderella called Lola Valente, who resides in Mexico City, as a part-time worker on the Von Ferdinand mansion. Lola...Erase Una Vez includes the songs as Si Me Besas (the show's main theme) Espiral, Princesa and Sapo Azul, among others. Gonzales was nominated for Best New Artist at the Premios Oye!, alongside Jesse & Joy and Maria Jose.

A Lola... Érase Una Vez magazine for teenagers is now published monthly, since April 2007.


Controversy

A controversy arose when producer Pedro Damián was asked if Mexican singer Belinda Peregrin would be eligible to play the role of Lola Valente; question to which he answered saying that Belinda had no charisma. Belinda responded to this in an interview. The actress who landed the role is Eiza Gonzalez.[citation needed]
