Destroyer (comics)
A number of Marvel Comics characters have used the name Destroyer.
The Asgardian Destroyer
Destroyer is an enemy of Thor that first appeared in issue 118 of Journey Into Mystery in 1965. He was an armor suit created by Odin, Lord of Asgard, Father of Loki and Thor. Thor didn't yet defeat Destroyer in head to head combat. He has unlimited strength, Invulnerabilty, Energy Blast, and a disintegration blast. He fought Thor numerous other times and played a key role during Walt Simonson's run on the character's title. He also appeared in Marvel Masterworks: Thor Vol. 3 and Thor: The Dark Gods TPB'.
The WW II Destroyers
Timely (one of Marvel's precursors) introduced Kevin Marlow, the Destroyer, in Mystic Comics #6 (August 1940). Later stories (from the 1970s on) introduced other character who played that role - Brian Falsworth and Roger Aubrey (formely Dyna-Mite from the Crusaders). A version of the Marlow Destroyer made an appearance in 1997's Spider-Man TV cartoon as part of a WW II group called "The Secret Six".
