Derek 'Tommo' Thompson
Derek Paul Thompson [Born 31/07/1950, North Yorkshire] known as "Tommo", is a presenter and commentator of horse racing on Channel Four. His career began at the age of 18 on local radio and within two years was based in London working for BBC Radio Sport. At the age of 23 Derek was given his big break presenting the Sports Today program on Thames TV. In 1985, he joined as a presenter on the newly-formed Channel Four Racing, a post he still holds today. Derek also commentates for At The Races and appears on talkSPORT Radio every morning.
