Collin James Anderson is an athlete from Mahtomedi, MN, holding several significant ultra-endurance state records [2]. At the age of 19, Collin ran in the F.A.N.S 12 hour race, the only 12 hour endurance running event in MN. Given that F.A.N.S. is the only 12 hour event in MN, Collin broke the previous state record for 19 and under 12 hour distance by running 65.73 miles [3]. In August 2007, on his 20th birthday, Collin became the youngest ever finisher of the Lean Horse 100 mile Endurance Run, finishing in 23:09:00 [4]. Since Lean Horse is the only 100 mile run in South Dakota [5], that makes Collin the youngest person to run 100 miles straight in South Dakota by at least 4 years. INTRODUCTION For an amphibian to work, it must be able to float, prevent leakage and corrosion, and successfully transition from land to sea and back. Most land vehicles - even lightly armored ones - can be made amphibious simply by providing them with a waterproof hull and perhaps a propeller. This is possible thanks to the vehicle's volume usually being bigger than its displacement, meaning it will float. Heavily armored vehicles however sometimes have a density greater than water (their weight in kilograms exceeds their volume in liters), and will need additional buoyancy measures. These can take the form of inflatable floatation devices, much like the sides of a rubber dinghy, or a waterproof fabric skirt rose from the top perimeter of the vehicle. BEVs were among the earliest automobiles. BEVs produce no exhaust fumes, and minimal pollution if charged from most forms of renewable energy. Many are capable of acceleration exceeding that of conventional vehicles, are quiet, and do not produce noxious fumes. BEVs may reduce dependence on petroleum and decrease greenhouse gas emissions, depending on how their electricity is produced.
PROJECT MEMBERS
HISTORY The first known self-propelled amphibious vehicle, a steam-powered wheeled dredging barge, named the Orukter Amphibolos, was conceived and built by United States inventor Oliver Evans in 1805, although it is disputed to have successfully traveled over land or water under its own steam. Although it is unclear who (and where and when) built the first combustion-engine amphibian, in all likelihood the development of powered amphibious vehicles didn't start until 1899. Until the late 1920s the efforts to unify a boat and an automobile mostly came down to simply putting wheels and axles on a boat hull, or getting a rolling chassis to float by blending a boat-like hull with the car's frame (Pohl, 1998). One of the first reasonably well documented cases was the 1905 amphibious petrol-powered carriage of T. Richmond (Jessup, Iowa, USA). Just like the worlds first petrol-powered automobile (1885, Carl Benz) it was a three-wheeler. The single front wheel provided direction, both on land and in the water. A three-cylinder petrol combustion-engine powered the oversized rear wheels. In order to get the wheels to provide propulsion in the water, fins or buckets would be attached to the rear wheel spokes. Remarkably the boat-like hull was one of the first integral bodies ever used on a car (Pohl, 1998).
PHOTOS META CENTRE It is the point about which a body starts oscillating when the body is fitted by a small angle. It is also defined as the point at which the line of action of the force of buoyancy will meet the normal axis of the body when the body is given a small angular displacement Consider a body floating in liquid. Let body in equilibrium and G is the centre of gravity and D is the centre of buoyancy. For equilibrium, both the points lie on the normal axis which is vertical.
BUOYANCY When a body is immersed in a fluid, a upward force is exerted on the body. This upward force is equal to the weight of the fluid displaced by the body and is called buoyancy DRAG When a body held stationary in a real fluid, which is flowing in a uniform velocity u, the fluid will exerted a force on the body. The total force Fr exerted by the fluid on the body perpendicular to the surface of the body. Thus the total force is inclined to the direction of motion .The total force can be resolved in two components 1) direction of motion and 2) perpendicular to the direction of motion The component of the total force Fr in the direction of motion is called drag. It is denoted by Fd .Thus drag is the force exerted by the fluid in motion Fd = CdAρU2/2 LIFT The component of the total force Fr in the direction f motion is known as lift. It is denoted as FL. Thus the lift is the force exerted by the fluid in the direction perpendicular to the direction of motion. Lift force occurs when the axis of the body is inclined to the direction of fluid flow. If the fluid is assumed ideal and the body is symmetrical such as a sphere or cylinder, both the drag and lift will be zero. FL= CLAρU2/2 HOW BOATS FLOAT A boat stays afloat because its weight is equal to that of the water it displaces. The material of the boat itself may be heavier than water (per volume), but it forms only the outer layer. Inside it is air, which is negligible in weight. But it does add to the volume. The central term here is density, which is mass ('weight') per volume. The mass of the boat (plus contents) as a whole has to be divided by the volume below the waterline. If the boat floats, then that is equal to the density of water (1 kg/l). To the water it is as if there is water there because the average density is the same. If weight is added to the boat, the volume below the waterline will have to increase too, to keep the mass/weight balance equal, so the boat sinks a little to compensate. STEERING Steering is a mechanism for changing two or more wheel axles with respect to chassis, in order to move the car in common axle and this is fixed. Steering is effected by means of front wheel only. For correct steering wheels should be in planes which are tangential to the respective paths in order that the relative motion between the ground and wheels should be pure rolling. STEERING MECHANISM The steering mechanism for the prototype The steering mechanism used in the project is capable of changing the motion of the front wheel from a given distance away from the driving shaft. Using this steering mechanism the vehicle can be driven from any distance away from the driving axis and simultaneously the direction of the whole vehicle can also be varied. Steering mechanism includes two sets of bearings, pair of chains and four freewheels. This steering is a non-conventional type steering system. The reason for using chain transmission for steering is the angular variation between the axis of driven shaft and driver shaft. Belt drive can also be used here but, due to possibility of slip because of the oil, water etc. it is not used. Alternate solution for steering can be a rod-drive. Due to the difficulty in maintenance, construction and replacement it is not used. DESIGN OF BOAT STRUCTURE
Let, average weight of a person be 82.5 Kg Let, three people can sit in the vehicle. The average weight of three persons will be: 82.5 x 3 = 248.5 Kg Hence, average weight of three persons is taken approx 250 Kg. Total Weight of the vehicle: 168Kg Then total weight including three people: 418 Kg. Considering the factor of safety = 20% total weight. FOS = 20% 418 Kg FOS = 83.6 Kg => Total weight = 418 + 83.5 = 501.6 Kg = 501600 cm3 From Archimedean principle, 1cm3 volume can hold a weight of 1gm in water. So, for a correct design, the total weight of the vehicle should be equal to the total volume of the vehicle. Now, Volume of the can (Body frame): length x breadth x height = (5.7 x 30) x (1.8 x 30) x (1.5 x 30) cm3 = 415530 cm3 Volume of the V- base : ½(length x breadth x height) = ½((5.7 x 30)(1.8 x 30)(8.9)) = 41091.3 cm3 Volume of the air bags : length x breadth x height = (2 x 30) (1.2 x 30)(0.7 x 30) = 45360 cm3 Total Volume = Volume of the can (Body frame) + Volume of the V- base + Volume of the air bags Total Volume = 455360 + 41091.3 +415530 = 501981 cm3 Hence, The total weight that the body can withstand is calculated to be 501.981 Kg.
SELECTION OF MAIN MOTOR Let the speed of the vehicle be: 25 Km/hr It is a pedestrian speed drive having interrupted type acceleration. Diameter of the wheel be: 0.22 m Speed of the vehicle: 25 Km/Hr = (25 x 1000)/(60 x60) = 6.9 m/sec = 7 m/sec approx Circumference of the wheel = 2 п r = 2 x п x .11 = .69 m. Revolution per sec of the wheel = 7/.69 = 10 Wheel revolution per min for the wheel = 10 x 60 = 600 rpm Reduction provided from flywheel to the axle sprocket = 1:4.3 => Speed of the flywheel = 600 x 4.3 = 2580 rpm Reduction provided from flywheel to the motor shaft = 1:11 => Speed of the motor shaft = 2580 x 11 = 28380 rpm Torque offered by the motor = force x perpendicular distance T = 501.6 x 9.81 x 0.11 T = 540 Nm Power output at the wheel P = (2 п N T)/60 P = (2 x п x 600 x 540) / 60 P = 33929 watts Reduction offered to the wheel using gear ratios are 1:47.5 Power output at the motor Pm = 33929 / 47.5 = 714.3 watts
SELECTION OF PROPELLER MOTOR Let the speed of the vehicle in water be : 60 cm/sec According to the historical data available, the most efficient propellers have following specifications: The blade angle = 600 The propeller pitch chosen = 1.5” Reduction given from shaft of the motor to the propeller = 1:7 Now, The propeller will exert thrust in (3600/600) increments = 6 increments The displacement offered by the propeller in one revolution = 1.5” x 6 = 9” x 2.45 = 22 cm The speed assumed for the water propulsion = 60 cm/sec for one sec: X x 22 = 60 X = 60/22 = 2.73 rps Hence, Speed of the propeller = 2.73 x 60 = 163.8 rpm Reduction offered = 1:7 Speed of the shaft of the motor = 7 x 163.8 = 1146.6 rpm = 1200 rpm (say). For a vehicle to propel at 60 cm/sec with 1200 rpm motor having given propeller specifications should have a motor of 103 watts.
SELECTION OF BATTERY 4.5.1 In land: Let the efficiency of the motor be E: 65% And the factor of safety be taken as: 20% Power of the motor is calculated to be: 700watts. Now, Considering efficiency to be 65 % = 700 + (35% x 700) = 700 + 245 = 945 watts. Considering FOS = 20% = 20 x 945 = 189 watts = 945 + 189 = 1134 watts. Power needed by the battery to operate the motor =1134watts = 1200 watts (say) = 1200/ 745 = 1.5 HP Battery used here should be of: I = P/V = 1200 watts / 12 volt = 100 Ah 4.5.2 In Water: Let the efficiency of the motor be E: 40% the factor of safety be taken as : 20% Power of the motor is calculated to be: 103 watts. Now, Considering efficiency to be 40 % = 103+ (40% x 103) = 103 + 41.2 = 144.2 watts. Considering FOS = 20% = 20 x 144.2 = 28.84 watts = 144.2 + 28.84 = 173.04 watts. Power needed by the battery to operate the motor =173.04watts = 180 watts (say) = 180/ 745 = 1/4 HP Battery used here should be of :I = P/V = 180watts / 12volt = 15Ah So, the battery selected here is of the specifications: 12V, 120 Ah
SPECIFICATIONS
FABRICATION 5.1 FABRICATION PROCEDURE 1) A box cam type structure was made by using light square pipes and flat plates. 2) The design frame was then covered using plywood 6mm width 3) The cam was then covered by a water proofing agent. The coal tar and plastic mixture was used for this purpose. 4) The whole structure was given there tires. The tires are of 22cm diameter. Here cycle tire used. 5) The assembly was then floated in water and balancing was done using sand bags and air containers. 6) The whole structure was modified by adding some more volume using air bags. 7) A boat type design was made. 8) The whole body was covered using tin sheets. 9) The motor set assemblies for both reverse and forward motion was provided according to the standard data available. 10) Reduction gears were used here for obtaining the initial torque. 11) The unconventional type steering mechanism used here. The steering can be used for operating a driven shaft from any distance and at any angle. 12) The propeller used here is chosen using a standard table. The propeller and motor for water propulsion is chosen using historical data. 13) The vehicle was provided with two head light and two back light. 14) It was provided with a shoe brake since cycle tires were used. 15) The switches were provided for the proper shifting from land to water propulsion and water to land drive. 16) The vehicle was provided with a cushioned two seat.
APPLICATIONS 1. These vehicles can be used as mobile ambulance and can be used to rescue the people in water. 2. These can be very useful towards the tourism sector as they can work both on land as well as water. 3. These types of vehicles can be used by the military, as they can move on land and water with the same ease more effectively. 4. These can be used in those ports where big ships could not enter. They can be used to transport the goods to the ships. 5. In coastal areas they can be used as general purpose vehicles, as they can be operated on land as well as water.
ADVANTAGES OF THE VEHICLE 1. Heavy load can be moved or carried through the water. 2. Electric motors are mechanically very simple, and release almost no air pollutants at the place where they are operated. 3. Electric motors often achieve 90% energy conversion efficiency over the full range of speeds and power output and can be precisely controlled. 4. They can be finely controlled and provide high torque from rest, unlike internal combustion engines, and do not need gears to match power curves. This removes the need for gearboxes and torque converters. 5. Electric vehicles typically have less vibration and noise pollution than a vehicle powered by an internal combustion engine, whether it is at rest or in motion. 6. E - Powered amphibian vehicle uses direct current hence, it is very economical. It is the cheapest mode of transportation. 7. For small turns in water, the front tire can used as a radar, hence there is no need to provide any other mechanism. 8. Its maintenance cost is very less as the mechanisms used in this vehicle are very simple. 9. It is very light in weight hence it is more efficient than any other vehicle. 10. No heat is generated while it is in motion, so no need of the coolants.
DISADVANTAGES OF THE VEHICLE 1. The door of the vehicle can’t be opened while it is in water. 2. Practical implementation is also very tough as there are very few number of recharge centers. 3. Pumping mechanisms should be provided to pump the water from the vehicle if any leak occurs. 4. An expert driver is required, since the way of driving in land is different from that in water. 5. There is a chance for corrosion of different parts of the vehicle. 6. These can not be used in hilly areas or elevated places, as it can not climb huge elevations.

SourcesNhanjum14 (talk) 12:44, 14 July 2008 (UTC)[reply] rom time immemorial, the eternal lineage of saints has been represented through various individuals. This powerful spiritual legacy is carried forward in the present times by Shrimad's ardent devotee, Pujyashri Rakeshbhai Jhaveri, whom we lovingly address as Gurudev, Saheb or Bapa. Born on the auspicious day of 26th September, 1966 in Mumbai, to Smt. Rekhaben and Shri Dilipbhai Jhaveri, He showed signs of divinity at a very young age. From the tender age of 4, for long hours, He would remain engrossed in meditation and other spiritual activities. At the age of 8, on seeing Shrimad's photograph for the first time, He established continuity with His past spiritual attainments, resulting in an acceleration of His spiritual pursuit. During the period of 1985 to 1991, Pujyashri's extraordinary brilliance, enabled Him to effortlessly master profound subjects like the Six Fundamental Schools of Thought, Shwetambar and Digambar Jain scriptures, Logic, Philosophy and Sanskrit, to name a few. Observing long periods of silence, going deeper into meditation and various other spiritual practices resulted in His attaining greater heights of spirituality. Academically, having passed M.A. (Philosophy) with a gold medal, He wrote an extensive research treatise on Shrimad's finest literary creation, 'Shri Atmasiddhi Shastra' (a poetic composition on Self-Realization), for which the University of Mumbai conferred on Him the degree of Ph.D. in 1998. His divine love and extraordinary virtues; His ability to endear anyone, be it a small baby or an 80-year-old, to relate to child and scholar alike - at their own level; His cheerful disposition, broad vision and keen foresight; His personalized, simple yet effective guidance to each devotee has spiritually transformed their lives. But above all, His devotion towards His Guru Shrimad Rajchandra and commitment towards His Guru's mission are a source of great inspiration embodying the quintessence of true love. Since the last 25 years, several seekers are spiritually advancing under Pujyashri's able guidance. The many fold increase in the number of devotees led to the formation of a trust, 'Shrimad Rajchandra Adhyatmik Satsang Sadhana Kendra' in 1994. Inspired by Him, the group is involved in various spiritual activities such as satsang (discourse), bhakti (devotional prayer), jap (chanting), tap (austerity), dharma yatra (pilgrimage) and dhyan shibirs (meditation workshops). To facilitate these activities, under the blessings of Pujyashri, in 2001, on the auspicious day of Mahavir Jayanti, 'Shrimad Rajchandra Ashram' was established on the blessed land of Dharampur. On that very auspicious day, along with Pujyashri, 24 other life-long celibate devotees took pratimas (vows), advancing towards their goal of complete renunciation - monkhood.

References from accredited architectural sites: www.skyscraperpage.com, www.emporis.com, www.ultrapolisproject.com, www.skyscrapercity.com and many others are being taken in consideration so that a more accurate and definite data is obtained here for your benefits. There are many ways to determine which skyline is better: the most important criteria is VVII:visual vertical impact index other aspects such as features,uniqueness,marvels, backdrop, density and others which are subjective are included in this revelation of this ranking. Lets begin the Top 10 Skylines of The World!!! 1. Hong Kong, ChinaThis city is the best among all in its buildings category. No other cities can beat this one. This city shows exactly that Asia is now leading in terms of cities progress. This city is not only dense with buildings(offices and condominiums) but also beautified by the changing or neon lighting of buildings especially the tall one. Located between the hills and shoreline, this city provides the best backdrop ever...putting it in number one hot spot in this ranking. Buildings built here are insanely tall and consistent in height too (Two International Finance Centre, Central Plaza, Bank Of China Tower, The Center, Nina Tower).This city has 35 buildings over 200m, all in one city...how great is this!!! 2. Chicago, USAThis city, again, located along the shoreline, providing a nice backdrop too, it just lack of hills like Hong Kong. However, this city exemplifies great architecture with astonishingly tall buildings such as Sears Tower, John Hancock Center, Aon Center, and many others.Chicago is the first city to build steel high rise structures, which shows the beginning of modern architecture.Buildings are clustered so perfectly in this city that it is amazing when viewed from different angles. This city is on the league on its own in Western world,defeating even New York.With 20 buildings over 200m,this city is the world tallest cities (in terms of buildings height)How incredible is this city!!! 3. New York City, USAWestern cities are always great.Let see this city, the first city in the world. Bringing the architecture to the world, bringing buildings to this earth,all these roles are played by this city, how important is this city. The financial capital of Western world, this city is often portrayed in Hollywood movies, making this city the most identifiable one. Consisting of historical buildings (Empire State Building, Chrysler Building, Trump Building) and modern buildings (America Bank Building, New York Times Building), this city is so dense with buildings with the most number of buildings over 200m (40 buildings). Located in between rivers, connected with historical bridges, this city has its own style, excellence. 4. Shanghai, ChinaThe most booming city in Asia currently, Shanghai keeps on building tall skyscrapers reaching the sky to show their capability in economy. Located along the Pudong River, this skyline is beautified with river backdrop in morning and amazing lighting of buildings at night. With 31 buildings over 200m, this city is quickly improving its ranking until this spot. Continuously, construction of mega buildings went on tremendously with other buildings completed (Shanghai World Financial Center, Jin Mao Tower, Shimao International Plaza) and the insanely tall telecomunication and observation tower( Oriental Pearl Tower, 468m). 5. Tokyo, JapanThe most populated city in the world, this city is always referred to a very modern style of city with modern style of life and modern technology. Due to height restriction, this city does not has many tall buildings, but a lot of mid-rise buildings,enough to put this city on this spot too. Neon lighting and red light flashing is required on each buildings and the most famous Tokyo Tower make this city remarkable. Even with 18 buildings over 200m, the Mount Fuji which can be seen from far, provide a very cool environment for this city, a nice backdrop too. 6. SingaporeThis South Eastern city is definitely a very unique one. Located in one small island below Malaysia, this city has buildings with great consistency in height due to height restriction too (because of air traffic control). Greenery and river backdrop put ths city like a model come to life. Buildings such as UOB Plaza, OUB Plaza,Republic Plaza (three builings with the height of 280m) with other buildings are clustered together providing nice skyline effect too. It is also among the most clean and urban planned city in the world,eventhough with only 9 buildings over 200m. 7. Kuala Lumpur, MalaysiaAnother South Eastern city which definitely showing how developing is its city is. Home to the world tallest twin tower (Petronas Twin Tower, 452m, 88 floors) and another insanely tall telecomunication and observation tower (Kuala Lumpur Tower, 421m)and with other tall buildings (Telekom Tower, Maybank Tower, Empire Tower,others),they dwarfed other buildings located around them. The arrangement of buildings here from traditional style to the modern style is shown here clearly too, providing a good skyline effect. Even with no backdrop like hills or rivers, this city has 10 buildings over 200m. While the buildings here are not too dense, each building can soar out easily to give this city a remarkable identity. 8. Toronto, CanadaThe best city in this category in North American continent, this city is now home to the world tallest free standing structure(CN Tower, 553m). Again, located along the shoreline, this provides a good skyline effect to Toronto. Toronto has a lot of buildings from low rises to high rises, including the 6 buildings over 200m. This amount is quite less, but if we count the amount the number of buildings, this city is in number 2. Do not look down at this city, eventhough this city is like other normal American cities, this city has its uniqueness and marvels like One Canadian Place, Scotia Plaza, Canada Trust Tower, and many others. 9. Shenzhen, ChinaThis city at first is a small tiny fishing village at the border of Hong Kong, playing no important roles at all. But now, this city grows fast, just like Hong Kong. The only problem here is the smog which causes serious air pollution. Shenzhen, this city has a lot of tall buildings with 17 buildings over 200m( including Shun Hing Square, SEG Plaza, others) . The lighting here is not bad too. Eventhough it does not has any nice backdrop but the architecture and design of buildings here are so spectacular that puts your eyes on them. The order and arrangement of buildings here is planned too, providing a nice skyline effect too. 10. Chongqing, ChinaThis city is dense with buildings, a lot of buildings, even high rises too. Even with only 7 buildings over 200m (including Chongqing World Trade Center, Lanko Grand Hyatt Hotel, others), this city is now undergoing rapid development. Many skyscrapers over 200m are consructing here. Eventhough the environment there is not pretty good due to air and water pollutions, this city exemplifies great architecture in their buildings too. Honourable mentions11. Dubai, United Arab Emirates. (undergoing fastest speed development, constructing the world tallest structure, exemplifies great Arabian architecture and creativity in buildings design, a lot of new buildings over 200m, will be improving on its ranking) 12. Seoul, South Korea. 13. Sydney, Australia. 14. Seattle, USA. 15. Los Angeles, USA.

On May 18, he appeared with Bobby Rogers, Mike Monroe, Marshall Law, The Postman, Cyborg, Phi DeKapp U, Yuel Lovett and his valet Montana on the popular daytime talk show The Monica Show. During the next to days, he faced J-Dawg and Anthony Adonis in back-to-back appearances at the Coliseo Amauta. [4] He eventually defeated J-Dawg for the FOW International Heavyweight Championship on September 25, 1999. Losing the title three months later to Warlock in Davie, Florida on December 30, that same night he joined Tony Apollo and Anthony Adonis to form the stable FP&L and won the FOW Tag Team Championship from Wildside (Anthony Michaels & Jeff Roth). In January 2000, Fives faced his tag team partner Anthony Adonis on a televised match for Ted DiBiase's WXO Wrestling in Lakeland, Florida. FP&L broke up immediately after losing the tag team titles to Suicidal Tendencies (Dennis & Sean Allen) on February 12. On March 4, Fives won a battle royal at an event for the Independent Professional Wrestling Association in Homestead, Florida. [5] A month later, he appeared on the April 15th edition of WWF Jakked where he faced Essa Rios in the opening match. He was pinned by Rios after a moonsault. [6] On February 24, Fives competed in the 2001 Super 8 Tournament in Wilmington, Delaware and lost to Lo Ki in the opening rounds. On April 22, he defeated "Mr. Extreme" Pat McGuire to win the FOW Heavyweight Championship. He would go on to win the title a record 5 times. Two days later at the Homer W. Hesterly Armory, Fives and Pepe Prado represented NWA Florida in a tag team match against Mike Sullivan & Scoot Andrews during an interpromotional event between IPW Hardcore vs. NWA Florida. [7] [8] He also lost to Scoot Andrews in the tournament finals for the ECWA Heavyweight Championship on May 5. On June 23, he made a second appearance on WWF Jakked loosing to Haku. He also made an appearance in Jimmy Hart's X Wrestling Federation where he was one of several wrestlers to compete in a battle royal to decide the first XWF Cruiserweight Champion at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida on November 13, 2001. Among the participants included Psicosis, Juventud Guerrera, AJ Styles, Low Ki, Prince Iaukea, Christopher Daniels and the winner Kid Kash. At the end of the year, Fives defeated A.J. Styles for the IPW Heavyweight Championship on December 8, 2001. It was during this time that he formed the stable Animal House with Chris Charger and Wildside (Anthony Michaels & Jeff Roth). The stable was named after Fives' gym in Hollywood, Florida where a number of independent wrestlers trained, most notably, David Babylon [1] and Maximum Capacity. [9] He and Bruno Sassi defeated the Badstreet Boys (Christian York & Joey Matthews) on February 9, 2002. He also feuded with Scoot Andrews facing him in a memorable ladder match at the 2002 ECWA Super 8 Tournament for his ECWA Heavyweight Championship. On April 13, he faced his mentor Norman Smiley in a match for the FOW Heavyweight Championship and lost the title after submitting to the crossface chickenwing. [10] On May 24, he finally lost the IPW Heavyweight title to Mike Sullivan in Deltona, Florida. He was scheduled to face Mark Briscoe in the opening rounds of the Super J-Cup tournament, [11] but was replaced by Shawn Sheridan at the last moment. [12] On August 10, he also challenged CZW World Heavyweight Champion Justice Pain at No Excuses. In December, he and Scoot Andrews defeated Sly Grenier & Blake Gale in a dark match on Smackdown. According to Kevin Kelly, he originally brought Fives to the attention of the WWF after receiving a tape of a three-way match involving Scoot Andrews and Billy Fives. He described showing the tape to then WWF official Terry Taylor,
Although Fives was reportedly in discussions signing with the WWF, he ultimately decided he was not interested in the offer. [1] He was later critical of Vince McMahon's monopoly on the professional wrestling industry following the buyout of World Championship Wrestling and Extreme Championship Wrestling in 2002, although he also pointed out that this also gave independent promotions more attention as a result. [2] In early 2003, he also toured Japan with Riki Choshu's World Japan Pro Wrestling before returning to face Danny Doring for the NWA Florida Heavyweight Championship at the interpromotional IPW/NWA Florida supercard The Aftermath on January 25. [1] At the last major IPW supercard Rage in the Cage V, his daughter accompanied him to the ring [2] prior to his match against Agent Steele at the Pinellas Expo Center on April 18. After the close of IPW Hardcore and Future of Wrestling, he returned to the Florida independent circuit. On June 12, he was defeated in a four-way match against Antonio Banks, Scoot Andrews and NWA Southern Heavyweight Champion Mike Sullivan at the Davie Police Athletic League. [14] The following month at Pro Wrestling Fusion's Heatstroke '04, he and Scoot Andrews fought over the vacant NWA Southern Heavyweight title at Pro Wrestling Fusion's Heatstroke '04 at the Davie Police Athletic League complex on August 21. [15] Fives was one of many former wrestlers to find work in NWA Florida and defeated Vordell Walker in one of his first matches in the promotion on October 9, 2004. The next month, he and Lex Lovett lost to Scoot Andrews & Antonio Banks on November 20. while competing for Major League Wrestling that same year, he and other independent wrestlers gained a great deal of exposure in high-profile appearances with the company. His match with Christopher Daniels at Hybrid Hell was considered one of the best matches on the card and later released on dvd. [16] On January 22, 2005, he also teamed with Lovett and Buck Quartermain in a 6-man tag team match against Vordell Walker, Scoot Andrews & Antonio Banks which was declared a no-contest. On February 26, he fought to a 30 minute time limit draw against Mike Sullivan and Scoot Andrews in his retirement match. In June, he appeared at the 3rd annual Peterson Memorial Cup tournament to present the winner with a trophy. [17] During 2007, he feuded with "The Marquee" Bruce Santee in several Florida independent promotions including Florida United 2 and Division-1 Pro Wrestling. Media
