The Early Years: 1997-2000 is a 3-CD set of the first three studio albums of the Alternative Rock band Switchfoot. This set was released on the heels of the band's meteoric rise to mainstream popularity with the double-platinum breakthrough, "The Beautiful Letdown," along with back-to-back hit singles, "Meant to Live" and "Dare You to Move," (the latter of which is included in it's original recorded state on this compilation)
It is seen as an introduction of Switchfoot's earlier material to the newer fans that came after hearing "The Beautiful Letdown."
