Cartersville, Georgia
Cartersville is a city located in Bartow County, Georgia, named after Col. Farrish Carter. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 15,925. Census Estimates of 2003 indicate a population of 17,221. The city is the county seat of Bartow CountyTemplate:GR.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 60.9 km² (23.5 mi²). 60.6 km² (23.4 mi²) of it is land and 0.3 km² (0.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.51% water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 15,925 people, 5,870 households, and 4,132 families residing in the city. The population density is 262.9/km² (680.7/mi²). There are 6,130 housing units at an average density of 101.2/km² (262.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 76.53% White, 17.04% African American, 0.28% Native American, 0.82% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 3.76% from other races, and 1.53% from two or more races. 7.28% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 5,870 households out of which 33.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.6% are married couples living together, 13.6% have a female householder with no husband present, and 29.6% are non-families. 25.9% of all households are made up of individuals and 11.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
