Goals

References and Documentation

See the Pokémon Style How-To (which has superceded this Tutorial) and the FAQ. Some other information may be found on the PAC talk page.

Reference sources include:

  • b:Pokédex - Base stats, breeding info, the works. This only covers info from the core RPGs and the card game, and doesn't have Colosseum or Emerald info, though.
  • http://www.pokemondungeon.com/pokedex.htm - For pokémon from the Kanto and Hoenn series (Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver, Crystal, Stadium 1, Stadium 2). Includes pokédex entries, attacks, stats, and where to find it.
  • http://pokefor.greenchu.de/zukan/gba/pokemon - For pokémon up to the Orre series (Ruby, Sapphire, FireRed, LeafGreen, Emerald, Colleseum). Includes pokédex entries, attacks, stats, foreign language names (French, German and Japanese), and where to find it.
  • http://www.serebii.net/potw/ - Although only about half of all Pokémon have thus far have been a 'Pokémon Of The Week' here, this site is handy, because it tells you what episodes of the animé it has played a role in, and links to exhaustive descriptions of each episode's action (which can readily be summed up in a sentence or two).

Current 'Species' Article: Bulbasaur

What needs doing to it goes here.

What's done goes here ready to be archived once a new article is put up as the focus.

  • It needs an In the card game section.
    • Perhaps this could be merged with the manga section. in other properties? A Man In Black's idea.
    • I'll add the card game info. --RealWingus
      • Done. I also removed the External links, I think they are unnecessary. --RealWingus
  • The infobox needs to be updated to the new template if the disvcussion heralds a "yes" about it coming in at all.
    • Add the infobox. If the consensus is to change the box, we can always go back and fix it.
  • It needs some information about its Video game stats and what advantages/disaadvantages it has against the other starters.
  • We should add info on strengths and weakness against Bulbsaur, this is important info! -vs151

Current 'Other' Article focus: Pokémon Red and Blue

What needs doing to it goes here.

  • Maybe it needs a description of the game play? Maybe even a list of the problems within it that were later fixed in Gold/Silver (e.g. inability to go back and forth through Pokémon stat screens without having to return to the party list)? --RealWingus
  • It needs which pokemon can't be caught in either. Cultural impact? Sectioning off? --Celestianpower hab

Next Pokémon Creature Article

Ivysaur? Or something else?

Ideas:

  1. Meowth, for reasons that should be obvious.
  2. Kadabra, because of the Uri Geller thing.
  3. Poliwag, one of the worst I've seen.
I'm gonna clean up Poliwag a little bit right now. --RealWingus
Well done! Just needs an animé section now. --Celestianpower hab 10:42, 16 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
  4. Trapinch has lots of technical that needs to be taken out or prose-ified. --Celestianpower hab | myRFA
Random thoughts on stuff to mention:
    1. It's one of the few Pokémon to change to a completely different type when it evolves (and tossing in comparisons to Magikarp and Feebas might be good, too)
    2. Trapinch and Vibrava are very similar to the larval and adult antlion, down to the wildly different ecological niches and the fact that the older versions are rather rarely seen.
If nobody does this before I'm back, I'll do it. - A Man In Black (Talk | Contribs) 10:36, 25 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
  1. Vulpix, table information needs fixing.

Next Miscellaneous Article

At first, this will be the main RPGs:

  1. Pokémon Yellow
  2. Pokémon Gold and Silver
  3. Pokémon Crystal
  4. Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire
  5. Pokémon Emerald
