Beawar (or Nayanagar) is a town in the Rajasthan state of India.It is a small but and prosperous town situated amidst aravali hills. It is an important centre of trade, especially in raw cotton, and had cotton presses and the Krishna cotton mills. It is the second largest centre of wool trade and also second largest producer of carpet grade woollen yarn in India. Besides this the food processing industry is also well developed..Other industries of the town includes Masala, Mineral based units, Machine based units, Machine tools and accessories, Pre-stressed concrete pipes, Plastic products, Textiles,Wooden furniture and Asbestos cement pipes .It is the largest producer of cement in northern India and home to Shree cement It is also mineral rich and has reserves of felspar, quartz, asbestos, soapstone, magnesitie, calcite, limestone, mica, emerald, granite, and masonry stone. Fairly good reserves of barytes fluorit, wolastonite and vermiculite have also been found. Beawar is well known and famous for the sweet "tilpatti".It was first discovered in beawar in the year 1938by shri RAMDHAN JI.Their Well known shop for this sweet is "ramdhan & sons".The best time to get this sweet is from October to march because it's a sweet of winter season. Air transport facility is not available in the city. The nearest airport is Jaipur at a distance of 190 km.
History
Beawar was founded by Colonel Dixon in 1835.Beawar is a town of British India, the administrative headquarters of Merwara district in Ajmere Merwara. It was founded as a treaty between the Mewars and the British. It is 53 kilometers from Ajmer, with a 1901 population of 21,928. Beawar is situated at a strategic location in Rajasthan, India. The city was founded in 1836 as a military cantt, at an important location between the royal states of Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur.
It was named after a local village called Beawar Khas. It meets all the requirement for becoming a district, sooner or later it is going to happen..
Geography
Beawar is located at 26°06′N 74°19′E / 26.1°N 74.32°E.[1] It has an average elevation of 439 metres (1440 feet).it is also home of world known temple of ASHAPURA MATA, located at Udaipur Road. MLA is quiet efficiently worked to make all fountain city.It is situated near Nasirabad,Bijainagar,Pali,Barr and Bhin
Demographics
As of 2001 India census,[2] Beawar had a population of 223,701. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Beawar has an average literacy rate of 71%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with 58% of the males and 42% of females literate. 14% of the population is under 6 years of age. The people of Beawar are religiously tolerant and Hindus, Muslims, Christians and jains live with harmony with each other. Beawar also have a very nice coeducation school Bhanwar Lal Gothi Sr. Higher Secondary School affilated with CBSE. It also boasts of a highly reputed secular school MANGAL NEWTON SCHOOL which started in 2007 incollaboration with premium candian institute Maple Bear built on 11 acres of land.
