Despite what you may have heard in popular movies or songs, or seen in the game Trivial Persuit, no such person as Otto Titzling seems to have existed, and he most certainly did not invent the woman's undergarment commonly known as the brassiere. This appears to be a fanciful, if humorous, tale first concocted by a humorist named Wallace Reyburn in the 1970s, and has become a common urban legend ever since then.
