Petter Thomassen
Petter Johan Thomassen (17 April 1941, Salangen - 8 October 2003) was a Norwegian politician for the Conservative Party.
He was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Nordland in 1977, and was re-elected on four occasions. He had previously served as a deputy representative during the term 1969–1973.
From 1985 to 1986, while the second cabinet Willoch held office, Thomassen was appointed Minister of Industry. During this period his seat in parliament was taken by Harry Danielsen. From 1989 to 1990, during the cabinet Syse, Thomassen was appointed Minister of Trade. During this period his seat in parliament was taken by Steinar Høgaas.
On the local level he was a member of Bodø municipal council from 1967 to 1969 and 1971 to 1975. From 1976 he was chairman (fylkesrådsleder) of Nordland county cabinet.
From 1988 to 1990 he was the second vice leader of his party.
He was a siviløkonom by education. He was a member of the board of Bodø Energi, Store Norske Spitsbergen Kulkompani and several others. He authored numerous books.
