Silja Festival arriving to Mariehamn in 2005.

M/S Silja Festival (earlier M/S Wellamo) is a RORO-type car and passenger ferry built in 1986. It is owned by the finnish shipping company Silja Line.

In January, 1986 the ship was delivered to Silja Line and put on the Stockholm - Mariehamn - Turku route. During the summer 1990 she trafficked Stockholm - Helsinki. In 1992 she was renovated and renamed Silja Festival.

March 20 to May 23, 1993 she trafficked Vaasa - Umeå, still for Silja Line. When Silja Line joined Euroway Silja Festival was added as a second ship for their route between Malmö - Travemünde - Lübeck, and later also Copenhagen.

When the Euroway project died in April, 1994, Festival was moved back to Kvarken to sail from Vaasa to Umeå and Sundsvall. In September 2, 1994 she was moved to Helsinki - Tallinn. June 26 to August 14, 1995 on Vaasa - Sundsvall, then back to Helsinki - Tallinn.

On April 5, 1997 Silja Line switched the ship's flag from Finnish to Swedish and put her back on Stockholm - Mariehamn - Turku.

Silja Festival's sister ship is M/S Color Festival (named Svea and Silja Karneval when she was owned by Silja Line).
