Marzipan is confectionery made of a thick paste of ground almonds and egg (either whites or yolks) and sugar. The whites of eggs are used to make white marzipan; the yolks are used to make golden marzipan.

Marzipan has to include at least a quarter almonds by weight, otherwise it is considered to be almond paste.

It is often made into sweets or used for icing cakes. Marzipan is traditionally used in wedding cakes, Christmas cakes, and stollen.

Marzipan is the name of Homestar Runner's girlfriend.
