CBS Interactive (formerly CBS Digital Media Group) is the division of the CBS Corporation which has responsibility for programming and ad sales for CBS.com, CBS SportsLine.com, CBSNews.com, and CWTV.com. It is headed by former Allen & Co investment banker Quincy Smith.
CBS Interactive coordinates with CBS Network Sales to bring together ad sales operations, as well as the Corporation's television, sports, and news groups, who will continue to be involved in program development.
It is often confused with CBS Digital, the 14 year old visual effects division responsible for shows such as 24, Jericho, and the revamping of Star Trek: The Original Series VFX.
CBS Interactive owns metacritic.com.
On May 30, 2007, CBS Interactive acquired Last.fm for £140m (US$280m).[1]
On June 30, 2008, CNET Networks' operations were merged into CBS Interactive.[2]
