Demetrius Atsalis

Demetrius J. Atsalis is a Democratic Party member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives, representing the 2nd Barnstable District.

He earned a social studies certificate from Salem State College and a B.A. from Northeastern University;[1] he lives in Barnstable, Massachusetts. Atsalis serves on three joint committees of the House: Bonding, Capital Expenditures and State Assets; Election Laws; and Labor and Workforce Development.[1]

Before his election he served on the Hyannis Civil Executive Board and the Hyannis Waterfront Action Group and was involved with Barnstable youth baseball and soccer.[1] He defeated Republican Will Crocker in the 2006 election.
