Marneuli is a small city in southern Georgia. It is located at around 41°27′49″N 44°48′39″E / 41.46361°N 44.81083°E / 41.46361; 44.81083. It is located near the border with neighboring Azerbaijan and Armenia.

According to Information of the Department of Statistics of Georgia the Population of sity was 20,1 Thousand in 2006. The city is predominantly populated by Azeri people (83,1%).

It is the source of a Georgian military air base [1], and the base was bombed on August 8th, 2008 during the War in South Ossetia (2008), with 4 dead and 5 wounded reported. [2]
