• The war in South Ossetia between Georgian army and South Ossetian and russian forces continues.
  • Breakaway republic of Abkhazia, together with Russian forces launches launched an attack on Georgian forces in the Kodori Valley, the region of Abkhazia under control of Georgians, where the parralel Tbilisi-backed "Government of Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia in exile" is situated.
