Mariagerfjord Municipality

As of January 1, 2007 Mariagerfjord municipality will, as the result of Kommunalreformen ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007), come into existence as a municipality (Danish, kommune) in Denmark. It will consist of the (what are currently existing, but on January 1, 2007) former municipalities of Arden, Hadsund and Hobro, and part of Mariager municipality. This will create a municipality with an area of 769 km² and a total population of 43,049 (2005). The new municipality will belong to the new Region Nordjylland ("North Jutland Region").
