It is not a good idea to request adminship on your first day at Wikipedia. The community only approves administrators who have proved through experience that they understand the rules and will carry them out wisely; there is zero chance of your adminship being approved at this time. I was approved as an administrator after a year at Wikipedia. -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 01:33, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

help?

You appear to need assistance with something, given your edit to WT:RFA. Is there something I can help with?

hi can you please put this on the rfa list

Wikipedia:Requests for Adminship/Matthew 8965

Matthew 8965 (talk) 05:50, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If that page were to be posted to RfA, it would immediately be closed as having chance of passing. You seem to be a little confused about the purpose and process of RfA. I recommend you read up at WP:ADMIN. Administrators are trusted users who have been around a while and demonstrated that the community can trust them to uphold the rules of Wikipedia.
You need more time to learn about the way Wikipedia works. FisherQueen has posted some very helpful links to you above. I suggest you take a look at what FisherQueen posted to you, and try to get involved in some basic article work.
Please let me know if I can help you. Unfortunately, though, I have to strongly discourage any attempt to put yourself up for adminship right now.
Regards - Revolving Bugbear 05:53, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

i am not cofusted im up to step 10 but i cant put me on the rfa list by the way you a nice peason

Sorry, you clearly are confused. You don't support, oppose, and neutral yourself ... you answer the questions and then people support or oppose your promotion to adminship. Take a look at some other people's RfAs currently on the list or previously closed. I promise you, if your RfA is put up, it will be taken down again quickly.
I urge you to read what FisherQueen posted above and to try to learn more about Wikipedia. - Revolving Bugbear 06:02, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

i am not convened i just want you help please please please just put my on the rfa list i have done the rest of it just please help me here i read all of FisherQueen edvice now Matthew 8965 (talk) 06:13, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I guarantee you, no matter what, your RfA will not pass. I can promise you that. Most RfA candidates who pass have at least 4 months experience and 2500+ edits -- some have a lot more than that. There is no chance that it will pass if it is posted, and the people at RfA will tell you pretty much the same thing I have told you. It won't serve any purpose. Why don't you consider new-editor adoption?
Also, there is no need to start a new section every time you post a comment. Simply click the [edit] above whichever section you wish to add to, and post your comments at the bottom. You can also indent text to make conversations flow better by using colons (:). - Revolving Bugbear 06:20, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

But i did everything i can do

You're not listening. Adminship is for experienced editors who have earned the community's trust over a significant time period. You need to take time to learn about Wikipedia. Once you've been around for a while and have proven that you are productive and you understand Wikipedia and the way it works, then you can try for adminship. You may be able to find a mentor who can teach you about these things at Wikipedia:Adoption. - Revolving Bugbear 06:26, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
