Lattice C
Lattice was the name of the company who ported their C compiler to the Amiga when the Amiga was young. It was a very good and comprehensive compiling, which quickly compiled and linked the code.
According to Lattice they were the first company to make a C compiler for the IBM PC back in 1982. It was ported to many other platforms, such as mainframes, mini computers, workstations, DOS, OS/2,MVS,VMS,UNIX and AmigaDos. In 1987 Lattice was bought by SAS Institute and they stopped developing the compiler.
According to Lattice they were the inventors of many ideas we take for granted today. They introduced the concept of programming libraries in 1983 - long before the concept of reusable components were commonplace.
In 1993 Lattice managed to negotiate a buyout from SAS Institute, but they never started making compilers again.
