Tajikistan will compete at the 2008 Summer Olympics which will be held in Beijing, People's Republic of China from August 8 to August 24, 2008. The country will send thirteen competitors to the Games, who will take part in five sports: boxing, judo, swimming, hammer throw and freestyle wrestling.[1]
On August 11, Rasul Boqiev won a bronze medal in judo by beating Kichun Wang of South Korea.[2] This was Tajikistan's first Olympic medal ever.[3]

Tajikistan will send an archer to the Olympics for the second time, seeking the nation's first Olympic medal in the sport. The country was awarded one spot in the women's individual competition via a Tripartite Commission invitation; Albina Kamaletdinova will represent Tajikistan in the 2008 Olympic archery contest.[4]

Tajikistan qualified three boxers for the Olympic boxing tournament. Kurbanov and Dostiev each qualified at the first Asian qualifying tournament.[5] Yunosov qualified at the second qualifier.[6]
