Welcome to my talk page. Please leave me a message below and I will reply on your talk page. Although my email address is enabled, it is not an address I check often (so I may be slow in replying to email). Please also note that while I am glad to do a peer review on just about any article, I do not have the time to do copyedits (sorry). Thanks for stopping by and happy editing! Williamsport Baseball
Will you check this template? When I try to edit it, it says that the template doesn't exist when it obviously does. I need to change the Grays from 1938-1942 to 1924-1942 Dincher (talk) 02:55, 2 August 2008 (UTC)
- thanks. I figure out how to edit it, but still can't from the template when it is displayed on the articles. Dincher (talk) 03:08, 2 August 2008 (UTC)

You probably noticed that I am starting to work on Bowman Field. There is some interesting stuff to add. It used to be huge! I hesitate about weighing in on other FACs while we have one up. I don't want to seem like I am trying to curry favor by supporting another and I don't want to step on any toes. I think the only FAC I opposed was Hillary Clinton. That article was just too fluid at the time. Another problem I have is I just can't read something I am not interested in reading. So I guess I shouldn't complain. I am sure that there are people who don't care to read about a state park in Tioga County. Dincher (talk) 23:09, 14 August 2008 (UTC)
- More pics of Bowman Field would be great! Dincher (talk) 02:29, 15 August 2008 (UTC)
- It's really been so long since I've been to the park, I really don't know. If Bresnahan's number is still on the wall, that would be good. Historical marker, a pic of the roof from the inside of the park, to show what it looks like and looked like in the past. I don't think this has changed to much. I know that the exterior is very different. Thanks and good night. Dincher (talk) 02:46, 15 August 2008 (UTC)
I started Williamsport Tomahawks tonight. There just isn't enough there or available for a DYK. I do remember getting a Ron Hassey card when I was really young and being thrilled that Williamsport was on the back of the card. Dincher (talk) 23:11, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks as always for the copy edits. There just isn't much there without getting elbow deep in microfilm. Oh, well.--Dincher (talk) 00:04, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

So, I need to make two maps documenting trips that Mary Shelley took. I thought this would be a good time to learn about mapmaking. Could you offer me some guidance regarding programs, etc.? Thanks! Awadewit (talk) 14:21, 2 August 2008 (UTC)
Barnstar

Fanno PR, autoformats
I always appreciate your input. On the other hand, I see that you are extremely busy, and I don't want to make more work for you. So, how should I put this? I won't be disappointed if you don't comment, but if you do comment, I will take your suggestions seriously.
On another topic, I wanted to mention that I used the autoformatting undo script favored by User:Tony1 on Balch Creek as a test case. It removed the autoformatting from the main text, infobox, and tables OK, but it doesn't change the autoformatting in the citations. For the sake of consistency, I unformatted the citations by hand but put the "accessdate" information outside the cite template, which seemed to yield either a blue link for dates it could autoformat (2008-05-12) or a red link for dates it couldn't handle (May 12, 2008). However, it turns out that substituting "accessdaymonth" and "accessyear" for "accessdate" in the template achieves the same end, no autoformatting. I'm telling you this in case you ever want to try it (if you haven't already). I have not taken part in the pro-con arguments about autoformatting, but I want to be ready to jump in either direction. - Good thinking - I was wondering what to do about this conundrum. Ben MacDui 17:48, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
- I have decided to unlink the dates in articles on which I'm the main contributor, although I may not get around to Johnson Creek and its little friends for a while. When copyediting for someone else moving an article toward FAC, I'll ask the main contributor what he/she would prefer. Fauna of Scotland is now unlinked by my hand. Leonard Harrison State Park
The latest additions look good to me. I agree, this one has been going very slowly. But I think it's going well, as far as good content goes. There's no need to hurry up and get bad news at FAC. Do you think we should place the history section first? History is first at Black Mo and Presque Isle, but not World's End. I do think that it's fine as is, but I can live with it either way. We could always wait for PR or FAC to do this. Dincher (talk) 22:59, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
- Sounds good to me. Getting Colton Point, the gorge and the creek up to FA status should be easier after, hopefully, getting this up to FA. I was just looking at Ohiopyle State Park, it along with Oil Creek State Park should also be easy to get to FA, lots of pics and interesting histories. I am sure the recreation section of Oil Creek can be expanded. Dincher (talk) 01:24, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
- We can tag team Pine Creek if you want. I should be able to help with history, ecology, etc. Don't know if I'll be much help with the course and that type stuff. Well good night. Dincher (talk) 02:27, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
I think I replied to all of the latest stuff at Leonard Harrison. Lots of good finds. Also Amd194 is getting more active and is seeking help at Ronneburg, Hesse, in case you don't have enough to do! Dincher (talk) 22:26, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
- I just uploaded a pic of Leonard Harrison on the commons side. Dincher (talk) 22:38, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for fixing the Harrison template. I like the brownish pic better than the blue. Thanks for checking out the German Castle too. Dincher (talk) 01:54, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

Leonard Harrison State Park has been nominated. I didn't see any new news on your or Moni's talk page. I am going to let her know that I moved it to FAC and any comments etc, would be greatly appreciated. Could you check and make sure I followed all the required steps. I think I did it right. Dincher (talk) 22:26, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
- Sure. I'll add a bit about the model articles. I forgot about this. Wikiwords like transclude leave be befuddled. I am glad you fixed it! Have a good one. (We've had Drama Mama drama at the old homestead tonight, ugh.) Dincher (talk) 03:14, 13 August 2008 (UTC)

It is just me or is the FAC very slow? I've look briefly at some of the other FAC's and there isn't much support for any of them. Just lots and lots of comments. Has the system been changed or we just dealing with summertime doldrums? Dincher (talk) 22:41, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

hi. i think i gradually was able to make quite some modification in the directions you suggested. i do not know much about GNU license, copyright of the images, etc. i do not know how to upload a file and put it to the article page either. i was wondering if it would be possible for you to help me with that. i emailed his official website to upload some pictures of Gulen, but got no answer yet. so, i would appreciate if you can upload some pictures of him and put to the article page: Fethullah Gulen. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Wellsboro_and_Corning_Railroad_Herald.gif)
Thanks for uploading Image:Wellsboro_and_Corning_Railroad_Herald.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Algonquian/Iroquoian place names
Thanks very much for your attention--Pennsylvania is difficult to categorize because of the two language groups found there. User:CJLippert is more of an expert on Algonquian languages (specifically Ojibwe) and he can usually figure out the meanings of place names even if he doesn't speak all the languages. I'm just helping out because I'm fascinated by the dichotomy in U.S. society of a basic willful ignorance of Native Americans and their culture, and at the same time we're blanketed by names of places, animals, etc. from them (seeing as they've lived here for over 10 thousand years, that seems quite natural)! :) I should think the etymologies should be added directly to each river article (if well sourced) so there's no confusion in the future. I've solved the last problem, I think. I added two much-needed paragraphs to the History section and a new paragraph to the Pollution section. Otherwise, the article, with the possible exception of nearly invisible tweaks, is unchanged since you last saw it. If you have a chance to look at it again, that would be great. Absolutely no hurry, though. Many other things to do, as always. Finetooth (talk) 19:27, 16 August 2008 (UTC)

Congratulations
I don't think I remembered to say at FAC how much I like Leonard Harrison State Park. I was sure it was FA and wished that my FAs could be as good. I admit to strong bias in favor of Pine Creek and its environs, which I know very well and, dare I say, pine for. Regarding the hyphens, Tony is right. I used the same awkward hyphenation in the first sentence of three of my creek leads, and I have now changed them all. Hyphens and comma splices are what I eat for breakfast, by the way. Very good with nonfat soy milk. Finetooth (talk) 17:06, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

Hi. I've worked like crazy on Odwalla, and I think I've addressed your comments, and I was wondering if you'd answer a few of my questions that I've left on the peer review page. Once again, thank you so much for your constructive criticism. Intothewoods29 (talk) 02:56, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

Ruhrfisch, I just wanted to thank you for your patience and helpful suggestions and contributions to the Crown Fountain FAC. I'm probably guilty of participating in absentia, so I'm particularly appreciative of your efforts. It's unfortunate your advise was not heeded, but it did not go unnoticed or unappreciated.
